Description

Interested bidders, this is your final opportunity to bid on a very clean, trouble free Electra. It’s the right color to be attractive, comfortable, reliable and a fun car to drive!
There is still plenty of warm weather for a cruise in one of Buick’s most gourgeous cars for 1966, Electra 225! This beautiful Buick was originally from San Diego, CA., has never been driven in the snow & The frame is solid with no rust issues. Fresh paint respray approximately 5 years ago, with a very nice paint job! The exhaust is approximately 8 years old, replaced with OEM exhaust and chrome tip. The engine is factory standard 401 CID known as the nail-head, with all the standard power items, i.e., steering & rebuilt master cylinder power brakes. The upper part of engine was rebuilt approximately 6 years ago with rebuilt carburetor. Brakes have less than 1000 miles with turned front and rear rotors, newer brake shoes. All four (4) steel belted white wall radial tires are NEW, less than 500 hundred miles-with a brand new white wall spare tire!
The true mileage is unknown, I listed approximately what the odometer shows.
Electra 225 runs great with replaced spark plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor and condenser.
Additional items which I personally replaced are new carpeting, new headliner & sun visors (that was professionally done), new front and rear seat covers, recovered front and rear door panels & new vinyl rear deck. Fresh rechromed driver and passenger mirrors from donor car which cost $500 to chrome. The original AM/FM push button radio works like new, I added AM/FM stereo under dash, with rear speakers and one center dash front speaker, which has really great high quality sound!
The trunk is solid with original "working" repainted jack base, stand and hitch. I included new 4 way lug nut wrench. There is a brand new "trunk kit" I purchased as well and replaced trunk carpeting.
There are a few items that and not working: A/C blows warm, however the condenser works, this is how I purchased car. All the original air conditioning lines and wiring are still intact, I just didn't have the time to mess with. The money invested into my Electra was to have it run and look as good and as new as possible. The shift selector indicator is broken, not the shifter. I have a spare dashboard (see attached picture) from a donor '66 Electra with a working, intact shift selector. The right turn signal indicator BULB on dash works intermittently, however outside right front and rear signals work as they should. The spare dashboard included has signal bulb. The outside right passenger rechromed mirror does not line up with drivers eyesight. It may have to be readjusted to work properly.
I have all receipts for parts and accessories I purchased, and for work I had done to the Electra. The previous owner gave me two reprints of two repair manuals for all 1966 Buick makes, which have been quite useful for restoration. These books will be included to new owner.
I get a lot of nice looks from other drivers and bystanders when driving my Electra. Its a fun car to drive. I attend local weekly car shows, My Buick is usually the only Electra 225 at the shows!
I subscribe to Old Cars Report Price Guide, most recent (July 2018) guide lists 1966 Electra 2 door Sedan in #2 condition-just under $13,000. The reserve I have placed is not anywhere near that suggested price, but listed fair. 1966 Buick Electra 225 will be sold to highest bidder & sale is final, no refund’s
