Description
Very original 1971 240Z - All original body panels (never wrecked), original, numbers matching drivetrain (engine, transmission, rearend).
Mechanically excellent with engine rebuilt in 2013 by previous owner, engine shows 170PSI compression and <3% leakdown across all six cylinders, transmission and rear end resealed, all fluids drained and flushed in last year.
New clutch, clutch and brake hydraulics (brake master, clutch master, and slave cylinder all brand new), new starter (original works and is included).
Electrical system worked through with ignition and headlight switches professionally rebuilt.
Carburetors replaced with better condition units. (Exact match 4-screw roundtops; originals included) with velocity stacks and ITG aftermarket air cleaners (original air cleaner included).
All work performed professionally by Z car specialty shop.
All typical rust prone areas are untouched with no rust except for the common two small spots under rear deck lid which have been treated and sealed (but not painted so buyer can see the spots, not hidden.) Just needs to be finished and painted.
Car runs on a set of Panasport replica wheels with brand new tires, suspension is largely original except for a few new bushings and will include some uninstalled performance upgrades (T/C kit, nylon rack bushings, Eibach springs).
Car was resprayed 2013 with original Monte Carlo Red (code 105) paint, body is straight, interior clean with newer OE seats, fresh carpeting.
What it needs: Dashboard work - all gauges except clock work but the dash itself is cracked in a few places but is covered with a dash cover (not installed, just sitting on the dash in case new owner wants to install a new/repro full dash kit), windshield wiper motor is intermittently non-functional (power is there, motor makes noise).
Extras (uninstalled) included: Headlight covers, H4 headlights, new heater hose set, ignition upgrades, set of period Centerline style wheels and newer tires, all original parts that were taken off/updated - original air cleaner, original carbs (need rebuilding)
A beautiful driver's car with just a little bit of work required to make it perfect.
