I am normally a classic motorcycle person, listing this for a friend. I am not really a classic car person. I will do the best I can with my limited knowledge, and feel free to call him directly for detailed photos and questions. Please read everything thoroughly. (828) 460-4173 Ed.
The good:
-Looks untouched. VIN tag has P color code which is "light blue".
-Original engine. Claims to have been rebuilt, but there is no paperwork to substantiate that claim. It did look like someone has been into it a bit. Nothing looked botched. Starts easily and sounds good but needs a tune up. Can be moved under its own power. No smoke.
-Original DANA transfer case.
-Hedman headers and newer exhaust. Holley carb.
-Seats look great! Carpet is not great at all, but looks original.
-Has optional power steering, swing away rear wheel, and roof rack.
-Has removable hard top, soft top, and bikini top. Yes, all three.
-Tow package.
-Steering linkage has been upgraded.
-Roll bar.
-Frame looks solid, nothing is hiding under undercoating.
-Clean open North Carolina title.
-He has the passenger side inside door panel and it looks fine. There are also some trim pieces that come with it that are missing in the photos. Not sure why they are not attached to vehicle.
-Chrome bumpers look pretty nice and would polish up.
-Made and assembled in Detroit per VIN, and dispatched to Charlotte. Since it was sold, it has lived its entire life within two hours of there.
-All glass looks good. I did not see any cracks.
-Lights work.
-Vehicle is located outside of Asheville, NC. That is 2 hours from Charlotte, 2 hours from Knoxville, 4 hours from Atlanta and Charleston. We are kind of right in the middle of the east coast. We also have great beer and even better mountains!
The bad:
-Looks untouched. Looks like there is nothing hiding under bondo, but there are things that should be!
-Driver side floor pan has issues, passenger side and back look solid.
-One rear wheel well has rust along the body line. The flair covers this so you do not see it in the photos, but I did see daylight from what I can remember.
-General rust you would expect from a vehicle this age that were apparently not made very water tight.
-Tail gate may be a replacement. Looks fine, but paint does not match the rest.
-Has two dents in the top that I saw. Looks like someone threw a baseball, not walked on by an elephant.
-Mounts where both of the door stop straps attach to the body look to have been very poorly repaired.
-One small crease in passenger side front fender. Took me a while to notice, but it is there. Should be one of the easier fixes on this.
-Rims are not original and he does not have them. Yes, the tires look ridiculous.
-The original stereo unit is gone.
-Does not have the front disc option or power brakes.
-Rust. As someone who does NOT restore cars and only works on them out of necessity, it looks like a lot but I am sure most of you have dealt with much worse. I would rather say this again and have you tell me it is not that bad, than get yelled at.
