Description
1968 Mustang Coupe
As if you don’t know already, Mustangs continue to be one of the most popular muscle cars on the market. This classic 1968 Mustang Coupe underwent complete 4-year restoration in 2009 with less than 1,500 miles since. It is coated in a beautiful Presidential Blue with Firemist metallic and flat black GT hood stripes. All of the stainless and chrome is in excellent condition with brand new bumpers. It has a great look with a GT hood (with turn signals), GT grill (with fog lights) GT lower rear valance, and a GT gas cap. The car is rust and bondo free throughout. Not only was the hood just replaces but so was the trunk, front fenders (inner and outer), passenger door skin, and the front ½ of the floors. It rides on Magnum 500 15” wheels with fresh B F Goodrich Radial tires.
The original 289 was completely rebuilt with only the Best Components. The Following Table gives the breakdown of the motor
Original 289 V8
Bored 0.30 over
10/10 mains and rods
Completely balanced
Screw in studs
Slight cam
Edelbrock performer aluminum intake
Edelbrock 600 cfm
Headman long tub headers (ceramic coated)
MSD ignition – 600A
High volume oil pump
Holley fuel pump
New 3-row radiator
Chrome valve covers
Chrome air cleaner
Chrome oil pan
2” exhaust into Flowmasters (GT Tips)
The 3-speed manual was rebuilt and shifts very smoothly. The 8” positrac rear end has 3:25 gears making highway driver a breeze. The brake system was completely rebuilt with drum on all four. It has all new suspension with new leaf springs and a 3/4” front sway bar.
The interior was completely gone through with all new interior metal, which was painted to match the body. The black vinyl seats are in place and have zero wear and tear. The dash looks amazing with everything in place and in great condition. All gauges work with no problems. A Sun tach is in place to insure you always shift in perfect time. A Grant GT steering wheel is in place with chrome horn button and looks great. A custom Kenwood AM/FM/CD player is installed just above the under dash AC and looks like it came from the factory. The front and rear windows are brand new and in perfect condition. All of the electrical works just as it should with completely new wiring throughout. The trunk is finish out just as nicely and houses the spare wheel.
This is a beautiful car and a great opportunity to own THE American muscle car.
