Description

This is an beautiful 1971 Mach 1 Mustang, a Frame-off Restoration, and it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. It was a MCA Grand National Show Winner in 2012, and just received the 50th Anniversary Gold Award of Excellence in Las Vegas! It boasts an amazing big block 429 Cobra Jet V-8 with Ram Air, & C-6 automatic transmission. This great example is one of 815 built with these engine/transmission codes per the included Deluxe Marti Auto Works report. This is a Concours quality car and is rated a #1. It needs nothing and runs & drives great. The odometer says 74,751 miles but it has less than 2,000 miles on its restoration. For the most part, it has been trailered to shows since the restoration was completed in 2008-2009, but continued attention to detail & maintenance keeps this a concours quality car, and continual show winner.
It is loaded with great options including original AM Radio, Console, Deluxe Mach 1 Interior, C-6 Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic Transmission, F70x14 White Oval Belted Raised White Letter Tires, Power Steering, Power Front Disc Brakes, & Rear Deck Spoiler. Currently, the car is stored in Southern California, covered, & trailored to Mustang events.
History:
This Mach 1 was fully restored in Texarkana & completed in 2008-2009. And since then it is rarely driven, and then only to attend Mustang shows. The restoration was completed to original Ford specifications, using all original parts. The engine, transmission, and rear differential are all original and numbers matching. The engine was put back together all standard with the original crank & pistons! This concours restoration enables you to show this muscle car immediately! The chassis is clean and still shows well including the correct red oxide primer painted on the bottom. And the car has all its original sheet metal except the left and right front inner fenders in order to get the radiator core support out because it needed replacing (You could never telljust full disclosure because no tricks or gimmicks on this car). It includes all the cool Mach 1 items like front/rear spoilers, hood scoop, black out treatment, styled steel wheels, and dual splitter tail pipes. The car has great paperwork including three binders full of receipts, documentation, and owner history, and PICTURES & Disks detailing the Restoration. And since the restoration, continued attention & maintenance have kept this car in concours condition.
The car was purchased by the restorers father in 1980 from an Air Force Sgt in Grand Forks, North Dakota. It spent most of the time he had it stored in the back of his shop in Crary, ND. After his death, his son inherited the car & moved it to Texarkana in 2005. After retiring from the Army that year, he began the restoration project.
If you’re looking for a truly collectible Mach 1 that is loaded, ready to show, and will stand out in a crowd, this is it! A every-time show winning, dealer favorite car!
Note: This car is in #1 condition. In the last several years, similar cars have sold (and are valued by NADA & Hagerty Price Guides) above $60,000. Reserve will be set in the low 40's. Reasonable Offers will be considered and the auction may end without notice.
The car has all the emmission controls required for a national non-California car, & it is exactly as it left the factory. Included with it is all parts to install (if you choose) factory air conditioning including brackets, pulleys, hoses etc. unique to the 429CJ. This is added value of more than $1000- $1500(if you can find the original parts) if you would like to add air to the muscle car.
