Description

1964 Ford Ranchero. I bought this from the original owner in 1991. It had 65000 miles on the original 6 cylinder motor and 2-speed transmission. I have put on another 30000 miles since then, up to 2015. The following is what has been done over the last 12-24 months.
1. The engine has been replaced with a 289 crate motor from AER Manufacturing Carrollton, TX.,
with Edelbrock high rise manifold, Carter AFB “Competition Carburetor”, new chrome alternator and fuel pump, new belts and hoses, AER valve covers, and ignition and wires.
2. The transmission has been replaced with a rebuilt C-4 with a new flex plate and torque converter. Also Mustang floor shifter.
3. Modified driveline to rear. New exhaust and hangers.
4. New motor/trans mounts.
5. Boiled out radiator and cowl installed.
6. Complete front disk brake and steering components and springs plus dual chamber master cylinder.
7. New matching 5bolt/4bolt rims with new matching tires.
8. 20 gallon fuel storage in bed with aviation hoses and connectors.
9. Rebuilt wiper motor(not installed)
Insulated car cover(somewhat faded)
1 NEEDS: The original radio comes with the car but it and the speaker and ducks for the defroster have been removed. A wheel alignment has not been done since the installation of all of the front end parts. There is some exhaust knocking under hard acceleration, so exhaust needs some realigning and mounts need checking. Driver’s window doesn’t go up or down without help but will close-needs a new regulator.
The exterior has been repainted and is decent, not show car. The interior was redone many years ago and is also decent but a little dated. Since the completion of the work, I have driven it less than 500 miles. I have many of the original parts and shop manual and will include everything to the new owner. I have enjoyed driving and building this car over the years .
