Description

1975 GMC Jimmy Rare Spring Green and Woodgrain LOADED Automatic 350/350 4WD Sierra Classic Equipment
One Of A Kind Special Order!
This is a rare piece of GM/Chevrolet history. I bought it to fix up/restore, and drive on weekends but I’ve been told it may be better preserved in it’s original condition. It's all original, not cut up/messed with, just a good honest truck.
The story goes that this Jimmy was a special order by the owner of Chamberlain Motor Company in Clarendon, Texas as a wedding present for his son. Fred Chamberlain was in Detroit Michigan to see the 1976 models coming out, and found out there was a new special order color coming out for the American Bicentennial models, and that color was called “Spring Green”. At the time Mr. Chamberlain had the largest GM dealership in Texas so he had some pull with GM. He convinced them to paint this fully loaded Jimmy Sierra Classic with that special order color that wasn’t supposed to be available until ’76. And so here it is, still in the original Spring Green, the way it came from the factory, as proven by the glove box tag (see 3 pix). It’s the first GM or Chevy vehicle painted in this rare color, and apparently the ONLY 1975 model. It’s the last year of the full convertible top, and best of all it’s pretty much original!
So, before I start working on it I’d like to see it go to someone with an appreciation for how rare and unique it is that will want to preserve it as s piece of American automobile history.
I’m happy to sell for cash or trade for something of comparable value…I’m a gas n go kinda guy, so please, no “unfinished” projects.

Valuation:
Hard to know, since it’s apparently a one of a kind. But the various online classic car evaluation tools show the average prices to be; low $9,630 medium $20,900 and high $31,400 for a regular, everyday Jimmythis one is both loaded with options and unique! I’m starting the bidding at $9,630 and NO RESERVE.

What I believe:
Has original 350 engine and 350 turbo hydra-matic transmission. NP 205 transfer case. Front Disk, rear Drum brakes, Dana 44 front Axle, and 12 bolt corporate rear Axle. Power Steering, 4 wheel drive works. Recent dual exhaust, Sounds great, Doesn't smoke or have any leaks. A little over 91,500 original miles. No bondo/never wrecked. Factory options: cruise control, built in window antenna, all High Sierra trim, Pretty much all original. Feel free to use the VIN to research away. The truck has lived it's entire life in TEXAS and CALIFORNIA, and I'm the 4th owner. It's a perfect candidate to buy and keep as is, or restore to like new.

What I know:
I've spent $2,463 fixing it up to be a daily driver.
Here's a short video of it runningsmooth!
I'm driving and enjoying it so mileage will go up, currently at 91,512. All fluids (oil ZDDP maxx/filter, differentials (front and rear), transmission, transfer case, brakes, gas, and radiator) have been flushed and changed with BG and Sea Foam products. K&N air and oil filter installed. New Delco thermostat. All belts/hoses replaced. Replaced rear/back drum brakes, both wheels. 90% BF Goodrich tires. Has all the badgingGMC on rear bumper, GMC Jimmy badges with the dealership on both front panels, Sierra Classic on both right and left rear quarter panels and GMC350 on the front grill. It starts right up every time and runs great. Goes down the road and stops straight. It’s currently licensed and registered in Texas (through 2023), and can be driven anywhere if you buy and drive home. Clear title in my name. All lights, windshield wipers, emergency brake, horn, gauges (clock does not work) etc. work. Windows and doors open and close as designed, even the back window works, and tailgate shows only some surface rust. Last year of the full convertible top, and it comes with a white double wall fiberglass original top. Factory spare tire carrier on the back. Driver’s seat and back seat has some small tears, passenger seat is perfect, some surface rust on lower body, only rust through is in passenger rocker (comes with new rocker), dash crack in middle, rear bumper dented, some peeling of woodgrain on drivers side and back, AC not hooked up but appears to be all there (of course it’s not converted yet), woodgrain door locks, tilt steering wheel, original (not currently hooked up) radio, pretty much every option available! (see glove box tag pix). I have a million more pix (underside, badges, interior, sun visors, etc), and videos, and I'm happy to do a facetime call if you want to see it start/run/drive. I've been a long distance buyer before so I get it. But please be a serious buyer before you ask for that.
