California rust-free car (see pictures). SUPERCHARGED 1964 2 door Mercury Comet powered by a small block Ford with a straight-axle. Quick car with the beautiful lines of the 64 Ford/Mercury body style. Never raced, but is a ton of fun on the street! A lot of receipts and records for parts.
Exterior/Body
2 door post Mercury Comet painted semi-metallic Zenith gold (House of Kolor). Fiberglass teardrop hood w/ rear vents and fiberglass front fenders. Rear wheel wells opened 2" to fit 28" slicks. Orange plexiglass side windows for lighter weight and authenticity of the 60's.
Stock rear bumper. Ford Falcon front bumper with holes drilled for weight.
Original trim holes are filled in the body. No rust or rot in doors or fenders.

Standard style headers with 2½" diameter exhaust. Muffles ending at the rear axle.
Rear suspension is a narrowed 9" Ford rear on leaf springs with traction bars. Factory disk brakes. 4.11 gears with a standard 3rd member to make easier to drive. 15" steely rims in the rear with 7" wide by 28" diameter Hurst recap cheater slick (about 3/8" of slick depth left). Common setup used in the 60's

Stock gas tank
Stock appearing interior with performance retrofits for the 60's AFX look.

Car is a snapshot of drag racing in the early to mid 60's. Between the stance, wheel combination, windows, bumpers, suspension, interior, it is all to reflect the time when drag racing took off. When manufactures were building altered factory-eXperimental (A/FX) cars and the "match bash" gassers. All before funny cars came around in the late 60's. This is the car that starts conversations with the "old timers".
