Description

Hi, here we have my brilliant Morgan that I’ve owned since new – 27 years - but I must now reluctantly offer it for sale to fund a race prepared car.
It was originally supplied by Morgan as a 1600cc CVH 4/4 - 4 seater wide body car in BRG in 1988 when we had a young family and gave us a great deal of fun. Over the years I have progressively modified the car and had great fun doing so. Most of these modifications were recorded in The Morgan Sports Car Club magazine - Miscellany, so the car is now very well known with lots of history. I have quite a history file to accompany the car including the original order – 9 and a half years before it was eventually delivered.
In 2010 the car had a major rebuild by Morgan specialist Tudor Motor Bodies in Market Drayton. It was professionally rebuild as a mechanical copy of the then current Morgan 3.0 V6 Roadster using virtually all original Morgan parts including a new chassis, bulkhead, wings, engine, gearbox, etc , etc. It has many of the best modifications including anti tramp bars, panhard rod, larger vented discs with current 6 pot alloy callipers. It was also re-sprayed in a lovely metallic green. However, being a pre 1993 car it does not need catalyst so with a decent ecu from Omex the car produces around 270bhp equivalent to producing a 0 – 60 time of around 4.2 seconds - it is very fast, but also very easy to drive. It will pull from as little as 500 revs.
I have various options I can use, a full tonneau cover, which can be used with the full windscreen or with an aero screen (that also comes with the car), with a 2 seater hood that uses the roll bar as a support which can be fitted in a couple of minutes, or finally as a full 4 seater hood which takes a little longer to erect. All these have been produced in a top quality fabric, not vinyl. Personally I have tended to use the car predominantly as a 2 seater with the rear seats removed which gives quite a sizeable storage space/boot.
I can supply it with set of 5 rare centrelock alloys with virtually new tyres or a set of 5 excellent stainless steel wires, also with virtually new tyres, (you could have both sets for £ 1000 extra which is really cheap!)
The interior is in good condition with stone leather reclining seats which are really comfortable. I have done a 16 hour journey from Lands End to John O’Groats with no back ache. The radio/CD player has a 1 gig store & play facility.
I am including a top quality battery conditioner/charger.
The mileage of the car in its current format is around 50,000 miles though the speedo was renewed a couple of years ago and shows around 9000 miles. It also has the large Mulberry radiator so no overheating issues.
The car is in superb condition for the year and comes with a new full MOT.
Quite simply it is a really special and historical car which has been much admired. It is extremely capable of fulfilling several functions and really needs to be seen and tried to fully experience how good it is. The variety of ways the hoods can be used is really useful. This can be arranged by calling Paul on 07970 092247. It is based at DE13 9HF – between Derby & Burton on Trent. Call or email [email protected] for more details.
