Description

Real Deal 1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 Convertible,
Rebuilt , Original to Car, YT 400/325 HP Engine. Original 670 Heads. Turbo Hydromatic 400 Trans. 3:08 Safe-T-Track Posi Rear End
Many say or Imply "400 #'s match" I have included Proof via PHS documents and Block/VIN Photos. That's what I would want to see right away before I'd consider a car for a drivable investment.
Highly Optioned, Early Build, First Year Firebird. 1 of 3,658 Firebird 400 Convertibles Built. Probably half of those automatic? How many are still on the road ? How many of those still have their original engines under the hood ? That's where the real value is.
The 67 Firebird 400 used the same drivetrain as the 67 GTO H.O. but used a throttle restrictor to de rate the HP to 325 from 360 ( also underrated ) LOL
Power Convertible Top with new pump and pistons. Power Windows( that work). Power Steering. Power Disc Brakes. Deluxe Black Interior with Tilting, Sport Wood Steering Wheel. Remote Outside Mirror. Rally Gauge Cluster. Hood Tach. AM/FM Stereo with Factory 8 Track Tape Player.
New Deluxe Black Interior Including Carpet, Seat Covers, Front Seat Belts , Dash Pad , Front Seat Foam and Front Seat Bottom Springs etc. etc.
New Completely rebuilt suspension Including Power Disc Brakes, Quick Ratio Steering Box, Multi Leaf Rear Springs. KYB Gas-Adjust Shocks, New complete front end, Control arm bushings, Body bushings, Motor Mounts etc. etc.
Original "JA" ( correct for Disc Brake Cars ) 14" Rally 2s with new whitewalls.
( or the 15" Rally 1s with BFGs if prefered ? )
Has the Original "67 only" Traction Bar with new bushings and all Four Cocktail Shakers ( Vibration Dampers ) on all four Corners
New Bumpers, Grills, Emblems, Windshield Chrome. Power Top Pistons and Pump. New Gas Tank, 135 amp Alternator, Regulator, Ignition Wires , Coil, Pertronix Ignition, Battery, Cables, Hoses, Ignition Wires, High Torque Mini Starter, Fuel Pump, T3 headlights etc. etc.
Originally Mayfair Maze (Y). Color changed to single stage Regimental Red, done well in the 90's. Looks good with a few blemishes.
Currently running an Edelbrock Intake and Carb and Hooker Headers with Flows from PO, But have the original, 400 only, correct date coded factory Intake and Carburetor that go with the car.
Original Black California License Plates. PHS Docs , Manuals , Original style B&S keys, Cover etc. etc.
Car Runs Cool. Drives, Stops and Handles Great with Plenty of Power on tap.
NADA says Average Retail is $54K, High Retail is $98K. I'd say this car is between the two. A deal at $42K. I couldn't replace it at for 42
This car is the Pontiac equivalent of a 67 SS 396 BB Camaro Conv. ( $90K+ car if you can find a real one with original engine ) But fewer Firebirds were made and they are rarly seen at shows with 1st Gen Camaros being somewhat common.
Solid, Dry California Car with no know rust that is Driven, Shown, Enjoyed and Admired regularly on the weekends with no issues.
