Description

Up for your consideration is this 1969 Firebird convertible with just over 89,000 miles clocked. This is a drive-able project car in need of some light bodywork, paint and interior restoration. Prior to my ownership this was a 1 family owned beauty that still has what I believe to be all original drivetrain with a 350 motor and AT column shift transmission. The original intake and carb were replaced when I acquired car 9 years ago with Edelbrock. Original parts were preserved and will come with car. Car has PS, PB ( Front Disc ), dual exhaust, fiberglass mono spring ( for smooth ride and no saggy rear so evident on many of these F-body convertibles ), and Power Top. Top motor still works but hydraulic lines have deteriorated and now leak to the point top needs assistance under power going up or down.
Interior is showing its age with the original Parchment seats and door panels as well as the dash all there but worn and in need of being replaced.
Body is in good shape with very little rust evident including trunk and floor pans but plastic front bumper around headlights is cracked in need of replacing and driver front fender has small dent where it was bumped somewhere along the way. Panel fitment is very good for this model car and the Carousel Red paint is still holding its gloss but cracking out from age and what I suspect was a pretty poor paint job by prior owner. Car has been in climate controlled garage under my ownership and is still worthy of driving around while you undertake restoration. I've never been to the gas station and not been engaged by someone who enjoys it. These models are appreciating quickly and are economical to restore. So go ahead and make this your winter project and reap the rewards in the summer from the joy a hot summer night with the top down will bring you.
