1971 Studebaker Avanti

This Avanti was sent back to the factory for what was called a "Blake Update" in 1984 according to the owner I purchased it from in 2010 and has remained garage kept since the purchase. The Blake up date consisted of removing the chrome bumpers and installing the formed bumpers. The front turning signal lights were fiber glassed in and the turning lamps were moved under the front bumper. The original back up lighting was turned into additional brake lights for additional safety reasons and the back up lighting was installed on each side of the license plate. The car was then repainted to its original color in 2008, Cinnamon Firemist with several coats of clear. The engine is a GM 350/290 HP crate motor with a 700R4 automatic transmission professionally installed (both with less that 1,500 miles) hooked to the original 373 Posi-Traction red end. The car now cruises at 70 to 75 mph around 2,000 RPM's. The floor, roof and doors have been completely stripped and Dyna-Matted to reduce sound with new carpet and new cloth on the door panels. The console and dash were refinished in Exotic Burl then clear coated. The leather on the drivers seat is showing some ware, but no tears. The car has a functional Air-Conditioner with power windows.
