Description

1973 AMC AMX.factory Z Code Go Pac Car. It has been sitting un-driven and stored in climate controlled environment for last 41 years. I found the car in 2010 parked in a climate building on jack stands and purchased from 2nd owner. The car has original drivetrain factory Z code 401. History. Car was purchased in summer of 1973 by the guy I purchased from. It's a November 1972 build so original owner traded the car in the summer of 73 for a SD Trans AM. Complete paperwork car with original warranty tag and window sticker. Numbers matching drivetrain. Car was typically modified in 73/74 with headers, intake carb. I did purchase a date code correct carb that was also removed early 73 and thrown on shelf. Also located correct exhaust manifolds. Intake is correct Z code but dated May 73.
I started engine compartment restoration but no longer have time, engine was torn down without removing pistons, inspected, re-lubed and reassembled with new gaskets and painted correct early 73 blue. Car is rust free and underside looks like new. I did disassemble front end of car to detail engine compartment. Previous owner had rattle canned the compartment black and a quart of original color correct PPG paint comes with car. Paint was redone in early 80's painted correct Tallyho Green due to faded paint. Never rusted or body repaired. I was going to have it repainted since my intent was to restore show perfect original but able to drive and enjoy.
Everything comes with the car. Factory grill had one cracked tab. Ram air cleaner with original paint, correct date coded carb, correct dated exhaust manifolds along with factory OEM replacement exhaust. New OEM engine compartment wire harnesses.
Has the original bias ply tires on original rims. They were removed in 70's when car had the headers installed and replaced with crager ss wheels. The original owner kept them and again climate controlled so tires are not cracked and hold air---they are presently on the car.
Trunk is complete with original spare.
Message me if you have further questions or call 414-430-5644. Car is in storage at my building in southern Wisconsin and I now live in Detroit area so unable to show car during auction.
