Description

1984 AMC EAGLE LIMITED EDITION With with Select drive (2 or 4-wheel drive); Currently has 37,100 ACTUAL MILES. This car is VERY RARE due to the fact that it has a FACTORY 5-speed standard transmission, and the gauge package. All gauges in the gauge cluster work properly. The RPM gauge in the dash does not work. It had been replaced with an NOS gauge and only lasted about a year. I still have the old one and it is very flimsy. I would not recommend using another NOS gauge.
The clock, with a second hand, keeps perfect time. Car has power steering, power brakes, power windows, power door locks, air conditioning, cruise control (does not work), tilt wheel, leather interior, S.E.V. Marchal Fog Lamps w/covers (covers are weather cracked and chipped). In addition, I have the original front floor mats with the AMC logo. The paint on the car is original except the plastic around the wheel wells, under the doors and above the bumpers, were repainted. Paint does have some rock chips but still shines nicely (see photos). Motor was completely overhauled at 33,783 miles by BUILT RIGHT ENGINES of PARKVILLE, MO. A new clutch, and distributor were also installed. About 1500 miles previous to the overhaul, the brakes, calipers, rotors, shocks and steering stabilizer bar (a shock) were all replaced.
On August 23rd, 2017 I had a set of brand new Firestone whitewalls (65,000 mile tire) installed. Old tires had a lot of tread but were leaking air due to weather cracking.
This car gets a lot of attention. If I go to the grocery store or go to get gas, someone always stops me and wants to talk about the car. At stoplights, I get the "THUMBS UP" frequently. One guy even stuck his cell phone out the window and took some photos of the car. It is a really nice old & rare AMC.
From the information I have gathered, only 21,294 AMC Wagons were produced. I could not find any info as to how many were Limited Edition. It appears that only 4-speed manual transmissions were produced; and only in the 4 cylinder models. So, this car must have been a "SPECIAL ORDER" car, and thus VERY, VERY RARE. I can not prove that.
I have owned this car for 12 years, and it has had excellent care. If you have questions, please contact me.
