Description

1958 Austin Healey 3000 Model 100/6 Right Hand Drive Original
The vehicle was imported from United Kingdom by the previous owner that I bought the car from. The previous owner owned this car in England since 1971. Since 1985 when the car was imported to Canada, it has been sitting idle and unused on top of 4 stands in his garage. I bought the car with the intention of restoring but have since changed my mind due to other projects. I have the full history since it was sold in 1958. I also have the original English Title of the first owner and also many other receipts of mechanical work done, maintenance during its life. With all the documents, you can see the matching numbers from the very beginning since it was sold.
The previous owner told me that he never repainted the car since he bought the car in 1971, but he can't verify if it was painted before. The car has maintained an interior in good condition, including dash, steering, all instrument gauge and underdash area. Only the floor mat has to be changed in my opinion. Both doors open and close tightly, windshield is broken. The seats are still in good and presentable upholstery condition with of course some sign of age. There is all original aluminum moulding. The matching number engine turns but I haven't attempted to start it. The car comes with overdrive. The car comes with spare tire and tools. The frame is in good condition, body has rust through areas concentrated in the rear lower areas under the door and rear lower quarter panels. The car comes with soft top frame and canvas roof in good condition but the rear window of the canvas roof has to be changed. The car also has tunneau cover. The car comes with window curtains. The engine compartment looks in good condition and complete with original parts. The previous owner routinely put oil in the engine to prevent blockage. The car still has original UK plate from 1958 when it was sold new. The car doesn't run but can be steered and pushed. I have the headlight rim and I have the hubcaps still wrapped in 1985 UK newspaper when it was shipped to Canada.
I have not attempted to clean or try to do anything to make it look better in the pictures because I wanted to allow everyone to get an honest picture without any cosmetic touch ups. I don't have a hydraulic lift to get better pictures of the undercarriage, so I did the best I can.
If you are looking for an original car for a full restoration with matching number and full history, this car is rare find for you. You get full history, in original condition and a model that is highly sought out by collectors. This particular model was also produced in limited number especially the right hand drive.
If you would like more particular pictures, I would be happy to send it to you so that you will be more satisfied. If you would like more information and would like to talk to me directly, please send your phone number and best time to call.
The car is sold in the condition as is and where is and has no warranty. It is located in Toronto Ontario Canada.
The car is sold with Ontario ownership ( Title) in my name.
I can help the buyer to arrange shipping if needed but please do your own research regarding cost of transportation to your area. There is no problem to export to the US and it's a smooth straight forward procedure. Easiest and most cost effective way is to pick up the car yourself. I can store the car for a reasonable time. If this is a concern, please contact me for the length of time you need before you can pick up the car.
I put many pictures, please look carefully. I tried to describe the condition of the car to the best of my knowledge with descriptions and pictures but if it is possible, I suggest for your to come and inspect the car personally before bidding. The car is about 15 km (10 miles) from Toronto airport, I can pick you up if you need. I will assist the buyer to load the car unto a trailer if you are picking up the car personally. If you can't come yourself to check the car, please send someone you trust to come and check if you can.
Buyers who have less than 10 feedback, please contact me before bidding otherwise I will cancel your bid.
I have many questions about shipping overseas. I have experience with shipping to Europe. So I can help the buyer with finding best shipping method and preparing the right documents to export. Shipping to Europe ( Liverpool, Antwerp, Bremerhaven etc..) is around $1500 in an enclosed container. I will assist with the complete operation, if the buyer gives me the authority.
Car will be ready for pick up once full payment has been made and cleared.
To be fair to all interested, I will keep the reserve price private, so please do not ask. If you are interested, please bid up to your budget. Thank you
Note: Regarding this particular and rare Right Hand Drive 100/6 2 seater, I've done a little research and found that this model which was produced between March 1958 to March 1959 in very really limited number. If anyone has any more information on the number produced, I would really appreciate it if you can let me know. I know that the majority of the model produced was for a Left Hand Drive for the North American market. I found out that there were 178 total right hand drive cars produced out of 4150 total production of BN6. I was informed by an Austin Healey expert that there are approximately only about 60 registered RHD, but some of these may have been LHD converted to RHD. So the true number of original RHD cars still remaining may be even lower than 60. If anyone else has any other information or if the information is different, please let me know so I can share with all interested people.
More Information on this Rare Car:
I saw these peculiar triangle gussets at the lower corners of the windshield trim and by asking around Austin Healeys experts, it was confirmed to me that these triangle gussets are very rare and is an original part according to the concourse guidelines. This certainly will be important to the collector. I will add a picture of these gussets, please check.
