1993 'K' BMW M5 3.8 Litre 'Nurburgring Edition' Shadow-Line Sports Saloon, Factory RHD. Barn Stored For A Decade & Now This Genuine Time Warp M5 Is Ripe For Minor Restoration.
Finished In Calypso Red Metallic (252) With Silver Alcantara & 'M' Design Upholstery (0476) On Electrically Adjustable Sports Seats, Originally Supplied By Castle BMW Main Dealership In York & Then By Cronk In Banstead, Surrey She Still Wears Their Supplying Number Plates.
According To BMW Factory Records This 'M5 3.8' Was Hand Built on 16th April 1992 & Highly Specified With The Super Rare & Desirable 'Nurburgring Edition' & Shadow-Line Trim Package Options. Further Options That Were Ordered With Chassis '00018' Were: 'M - Sport' 17' Split Rim Light Alloy Road Wheels, Silver Alcantara Upholstery With 'M' Design Centres On Electrically Adjustable Sport Seats, Rear Boot-lid Spoiler, Green Tinted Glass, Tilt & Slide Sunshine Roof, Air Conditioning, Interior Light Package, Headlamp Intensive Cleaning Washing System, Servo-tronic Steering System, Fully Adjustable Sports Suspension.
The Former Gentleman Keeper Of Thirteen Years Had Barn Stored This Example In The Hope That One Day He Would Embark On The Restoration Of His Cherished Bavarian Classic, Unfortunately, As Is Commonly The Case, This Was Never Started & Now Due To His Old Age He Decided To Reluctantly Part Ways.
Accompanying The BMW Is The Original Leather Bound 'M' Wallet With The Service Booklet With BMW Main Dealership Stamps Up to 2004, Original 'M5' Owners Handbook & Guides, Dealer / Service Locator Booklet, Receipts, Previous MoT Certificate & A Copy Of The BMW Factory Option & Build Details.
Once Removed From The Owners Barn It Became Apparent That She Was Indeed An Original & Un-touched Example That Benefits From A Totally Un-marked Upholstery That Only Requires Gentle Cleaning! The Paintwork Has Sadly Suffered During It's 23 Year Life Which Now Has Small Areas Of Lacquer Peel etc. All Of The Unique & Important 'M5' Components Are Still Intact Including That 3.8 Litre Powerhouse & 5 Speed Manual Gearbox. We Have Had The Car Running Without To Much Stress & It Sounds Fantastic, But Will Require Some Re-commissioning Before Use.
The Car Needs Brake Pads (Very Hard To Find And Expensive) Which Are Supplied With The Car, Brake Lines Which; Whilst Carrying Out This Work Would Benefit From New Fuel Lines As Well. The Hydraulic Suspension Pipe Will Also Need Replacing To Make The Car Sit Properly. All Of These Parts Can Be Obtained Direct From BMW And I Have An Email Showing Prices (Which Are Surprisingly Inexpensive) Which I Can Forward On To Any Potential Buyer.
To Summarise, This Exceptionally Rare, Collectable 90's Icon Is Available For A Gentle & Easy Restoration/Re-commission. Un-restored E34 M5's Are Now Virtually Impossible To Find!
