Description

1961 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible
Very Rare
***NO RESERVE***
Body: The body is unrestored. the floors need to be replaced, the rocker panels need very little work, there is rust in the front fenders behind the the wheel wells and on the drivers side near the side marker light. the trunk lip and hood lip have rust. The frame is very good . The convertible top is complete with latches and the pinch weld trim is in place. The patina is perfect for a rat rod. The original colour Is Pompeian red with a white top.
Interior: The front seat, floor covering have been removed and were not salvageable. The rear seat bottom was not saved but a replacement convertible seat is included. The dash pad is not cracked and is in good condition The rest of the interior needs to be redone.
I have a pair of factory Cadillac Eldorado bucket seats with the centre compartment that I bought, thinking I would use them in this car. Buckets are very rare in early 60's Cadillacs but were an option on the 1962 Eldorado convertible. I will consider selling these seats to winner of this auction. The last picture is from the factory brochure and shows the optional bucket seats.
Mechanical: The engine and transmission have been removed and discarded, the engine was not worth saving. In the past I have installed LS6 engines in older Cadillacs and that was my plan for this car.
I bought the Cadillac with plans of putting a LS6 in it, but leaving the exterior as it is now. I have a large collection of restored and project cars and I'm getting old enough that I've decided to part with the unrestored cars and start to enjoy the finished ones while there is still time. As a result the Cadillac is for sale. I started to remove the rusty floors and was going to order new ones from Ebay but I've been too busy. This Cadillac has suffered from having a bad convertible top that leaked and allowed the wet carpet to rust the floor panels. I find it an easy fix because there is very little finishing work after the floors are welded in place. I never planed on restoring this Cadillac I felt a rat rod would be the way to go and you rarely see a Cadillac convertible done this way. The Cadillac is located near Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada and is sold on a bill of sale. The wire wheels are not included it will come with steel wheels and roller tires. Please see below for shipping information. Payment is by bank to bank wire transfer for the safety of the buyer and seller. You can send any questions you have through Ebay messaging or call me directly at (250) 515-1110.
