Description

Selling my 1955 Chevy 150 Sedan. A previous owner put Bel-Air trim inside and out so I left it as is. If only they had known! This Tri-5 Classic can be driven anywhere. The 2006 LS2 & 4L60E drive train make this little sleeper fun, dependable, economical and very fast. The patina paint and powder coated bumpers make it easy to clean. With Power steering(605), Power disc brakes up front, Tilt Chrome column, Vintage A/C-heat-defrost with controls in stock position(new Sandon 508 AC compressor), Front stabilizer and low stance, it is a pleasure to drive. It handles like a sports car, stops on a dime and gives you instant response when you press on the pedal. "Classic Instruments" gauge panel in the stock bezel keep you informed of all critical operation. Stock electric 2-speed windshield wipers. The front seats are 67 GTO w/new seat covers. The rear is a stock 55 Chevy that is rolled and pleated vinyl as are the door panels. The carpet is adequate, not great, but presentable. I removed all the seats and carpet when I installed the new seat covers. I installed hush-mat insulation from the firewall to and including the trunk. I built a console to store the engine and gas pedal computer. The console is divided so there is room for other storage as well. The cover can be quickly removed for maintenance or inspection. The glove box is shallow due to the AC unit, but there is room for storage. There is also a spacious storage console/2-cup holder mounted between the seats. It still has the original headliner, sun visors and glass. The glass has some bubbling and scratches, but no cracks. The felts and rubbers are good, not new. All door handles and window cranks work properly. Door locks have key and work great. The rear windows are stationary and there is no window hardware on this model. New wiring harness front to back. Head lights(high-low),tail lights(LED's),turn signals,back-up lights, stop lights, dash lights work properly. Floor interior lights on a toggle switch.
Engine:
Stock 2006 LS2, 6.0, all aluminum 400HP Fuel Injected motor. 21 MPG Highway. Stand alone, engine harness and drive by wire accelerator pedal harness where built by Speed and Performance. Test receptacle under dash. I was told by the previous seller that Speed and Performance installed the drive train and electronics as well. There name and there serial number are on the computers. Coated headers w/sensors move the exhaust. The accessories turn via a serpentine belt system w/chrome mounting brackets and pulleys. Huge 2 row/1" core crossflow radiator and a 16" Electric fan keeps everything cool. The fan is also on a toggle switch. I have not needed to use the fan in the winter.
Transmission:
Matching 4L60E from same donor car. The quicker you mash the pedal, the quicker it shifts. The differential is an 8.5 10 Bolt Chevy with 3:73 gears. Traction bars and mono-leaf Fiberglass rear springs help launch this old shoe-box with little hesitation.
Chassis:
Stock 55 Chevy w/stock front suspension. New upper and lower ball joints, A-arm bushings, stabilizer bar, front disc brake conversion(drums on rear) and 2" dropped spindles. Front tires are 215/60R/15, rear are 255/60R/15(biggest I could get in stock wheel welds) on Wheel Vintiques wheels. Small spare in trunk w/small floor jack and lug wrench. Extra serpentine belt(just in case).
Tried to show a picture of a dent in the lower passenger side door. It also exposed some body filler. It can be repaired but I was reminded that this is a nostalgic driver and no one will notice anyway. New trunk mat installed after installing hush-mat insulation.
A previous owner cut the dash where the radio goes, so I put a Sony AM/FM/CD/Cassette player in the hole. Kenwood speakers are mounted in the rear deck.I didn't install an antenna because I prefer to pick my own music. Floor pan on passenger side has an amateur repair job, but it is sturdy and insulated. Installed a new cigarette lighter receptacle with correct knob to charge cell phones and other accessories.
Sure I forgot something. Emails OK, but I prefer to talk in person. So please call with any relative questions @512-466-5307. All "REASONABLE OFFERS" considered. I am negotiable, but not desperate. Not interested in any trades. Need the room for other projects. Can send other pictures if necessary
