Description

1980 Corvette 4 speed transmission for sale

Beautiful blue exterior with Doeskin interior. Matching numbers as far as I can tell, the tab on the motor was removed but the stamping code falls in line with correct date of manufacturing. A rare combination with a 4 speed transmission that presents itself very well. Garage kept all it’s life. I’m the third owner. The guy I bought it from sold it to get a new 2014 Corvette. Many new parts over the last three years of restoration. New battery, set of NKG plugs, Taylor 40 ohm wires with looms were put in a month ago and it has a vintage correct modern radio installed with auxiliary input and new front speakers. Manifolds were treated by Jet-Hot 2 months ago reducing heat in the engine compartment by 56%. Engine compartment has been cleaned up and is freshly painted. New core support installed two years ago along with new belts all around and an aluminum radiator. Windows are powered and work great, one is a little faster than the other but work well. New aluminum ribbed valve covers from Corvette Central. The engine runs strong and the transmission shifts like butter. I recently took all the wheels off except one, and clean and wire brushed the insides and the hubs. The car drives like a dream and looks great. I removed the interior to the firewall and dyed everything for a fresh look except the black panel where the speakers are and then reassembled. The seats were taken out and the tracks cleaned and repainted as was the plastic on the seats. Along the way the speedometer and tach lens was replaced. Factory A/C and heat works. T-Tops are smoked and in like new condition, with bags and locks, and fit like a glove. Stainless steel exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers and NO A.I.M. parts on this car. Many other incidentals were brought up to speed but are too many to list. I would never sell this vehicle except I bought my dream car, a 1956 Corvette. I would, without hesitation, keep it if I had enough space. Turns heads everywhere and is a blast to drive. All the above was done well before I decided to sell it. Comes with some original parts that are still in good shape. Also included is a correct cover, Assembly Manual, Service Manual, a copy of the original bill of sale and many other items that I will not need anymore. The ’56 will not be going anywhere till I go somewhere so anything I have pertaining to the ’80 goes to the buyer if wanted. Some of the original parts could be sold or put back on the car as they are in good condition. As usually is the case, the car is sold as is and where is so the new owner will have to arrange pickup or just get in it and drive it home. Having said that, the car is reliable and a fantastic looker, not perfect in every respect but very close. Now for the imperfect things. There is a small tear on the driver's door (about an inch long) at the very bottom that I put clear tape over to keep it from getting worse with the intent of replacing but spending $250 for a panel for such a small tear didn't seem wise at the time. On the doors at the edge there are a few minute tiny chips in the paint that I never got around to filling (not noticeable until you look closely). The radio works but the antenna doesn't go up and down. It's probably more of an electrical issue but I just never got around to fixing it. I also have a full set of new weatherstriping that comes with it. Again there is no warranty and the car is sold as is, where it is. Payment is either cash or an agreed method. The buyer is responsible for transporting the car, either driving it or transporting it, after a satisfied payment method has cleared. I have been honest in representing the car and the new owner will be very pleased with their purchase.
