Description

This auction is for a nice original 1964 Chevy Impala. It belongs to the father of a friend of mine and he decided to sell it. It is a very straight original car with a great original interior. The body has I believe maybe two small dings in the body. Neither one being any bigger then a half dollar. The car has been repainted but there doesn't seem to have been much previous body work done to it. Like wise it doesn't appear to have been in any type of collision throughout it's life. You can tell by just looking at it that it was and is a straight original car. He got the car about 10 years ago. He had a construction company and took the car in on trade for some work that his company had performed to the previous owners house. He drove it as a Sunday car for about ten years and it developed a problem with the carburetor. His son-in-law at the time was a mechanic and took it to work on it and get it running better. He put a new Carburetor on it as well as a intake and a complete tune-up and got it running well. Then in the meantime the owners daughter and the son-in-law separated and got divorce and the car set at the son-in-laws driveway. Up until this point the car had been stored inside. From sitting out it did developed some rust behind the rear wheels on the quarters and on both front fenders in front of the front wheels. On the left front fender and some on the inner front left wheel well there is some areas where it went through. On the quarters behind the wheels it is just bubbled up. I climbed under and on the inside of the quarters behind the rear wheel it appears to be solid.
He finally ask me to pick it up for him and sell it for him.
All I have done to the car is charged the battery put some fresh gas in it and give it a quick bath. It runs very well and I have drove it up and down my rode and the transmission seems to shift well. The brakes are out and I believe it is the master cylinder that needs to be replaced. I was able to drive it using the emergency brake. As I stated the car runs very well with no smoke or any noises coming from the engine or drive train. The air cleaner states it is a 327 300 hundred horse engine but I do not know for sure if it is the original engine or not.
The car has a great interior in it. The only two spots I found any issues was at the top of the drivers seat there is a small spot (2") where the seam seemed to open up. This I believe could be sewed or maybe even glued shut. Then on the drivers door the arm rest covering has a small split in it. I tried to show both spots in the pictures. The rest of the interior is super. What you see in the pictures is just how I got the car. There is no Armor all or anything applied to it to make it look better. Even the carpet has not rips or tears although it is faded some from the sun. I believe but can not say for sure that it is also the original carpet.
Likewise the car has outstanding trim and bright work on it. There is a small dent (1") in the rear bumper but other then that I believe the stainless and chrome is super straight. As I stated previously I truly believe it was a great original car that had up till the last year or two been very well cared for.
This car will take a little TLC but with it I feel it has the potential to be a great car again. It seems to be harder and harder to find these early Super Sports that have not been modified and fulled with throughout the bast 50 years or so.
As always if you have any questions please ask and I will do my best to get back to you with an answer. I will be away on vacation this upcoming week but I will have internet access.
