Description

Up for sale. 1966 Ford Mustang GT fastback 2+2 with original 289 4V engine and 4 speed toploader transmission.
Mechanically this Mustang is in great condition. Original engine has been rebuilt with less than 5000 miles on it. It currently has a Ford Racing aluminum intake and Edelbrock carb on it. I do not have the original intake or carb. Transmission has a Hurst shifter and works great. Rear differential is the stock 3.25 8 inch. Most of the suspension has been replaced. Braking system is completely rebuilt and has a dual master cylinder in place of the factory single reservoir. New tires with less than 2000 miles.
The floor pan of the car has been undercoated at some point but from my inspection appears to be solid and original to the car
On the inside most of the interior is original with the exception of the front seats which have new upholstery. The carpet is a bit faded and the rear seat has a loose seam, but other than that the interior looks great. All of the gauges work. This Mustang has a factory Rally Pac mounted on the steering column. The tachometer works correctly but the clock does not work.
On the exterior the paint is showing its age and in my opinion is in need of new paint. It still looks good from a distance and I get the thumbs up every time I drive it.
This is a high value car if restored correctly. Here is how the data plate decodes:
