Description

We have just completed the restoration of this beautiful 65 Mustang convertible. It’s sporting a 289 V-8 with headers, a Weiand aluminum intake manifold, Edlebrock 4 barrel carburetor, Pertronix ignition and a Flame Thrower coil. A four speed automatic overdrive transmission from a 1989 Crown Victoria has replaced the original C-4 automatic for comfortable highway cruising at speeds. The color is Rangoon Red that Ford offered in 1965, newly painted with 2 stage paint, cut and buffed to a beautiful high gloss. A black power top, power steering and a black interior with a center console adds to this awesome color combination. The original AM radio actually works!
Some of the additions to make this a unique convertible are the GT driving lights, black GT stripe and a new dual exhaust system with GT trumpets. New BF Goodrich radial T/As are mounted on period correct American Racing 14 X 7 Daisy wheels that were so popular back in the day and they do look awesome. The floors of this car have been replaced and any other rust areas cut out and repaired. The frame rails have never had any rust.
The car is a real head turner where ever you go and gets tons of attention at any car show. This is the perfect car to take out on a summer evening for a cruise down town to get a burger and a milk shake at that favorite drive in! You will feel like you have transported yourself back in time to 1965.
The Book Value on this car is $9,700 Low, $28,400 Average and $48,400 High. This car is definitely closer to a High condition than Average. Source is NADA Classic, collectible and Muscle car appraisal guide.
