Purchased the car restored and did some additional refinements, including totally rebuilt transmission with two year warranty, restored original steering wheel, and professional detailing since purchase. The car was inspected by Randy Reed of Classic Coachworks in Monterey who is the head mechanic for the Gooding auction at Pebble Beach.
In 1968 there were only 1 of 351 Mach 1's sold with this color combination, making it extremely rare. Powered by a 351ci Windsor V8 engine and fed by a 650 cfm carb. Equipped with a Toploader 4-Speed manual transmission (brand new rebuilt) and Ford 9" Rear end with a leaf spring rear suspension and independent front, you cant go wrong with that set-up.
