Description

Hello Everyone I was given this car as part of a trade. The previous owner bought it from bring a trailer and the pictures you see here are from that sale. Since the sale of the car in 2015, the car has only been driven a handful of times and is in the same condition. The car is located in Los Angeles and available for inspection. The following information is also from the bring a trailer listing.
This 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 fastback is offered by its second owner, who purchased it as a bare unibody shell from the original owner in 1997 and gave it a three-year nut-and-bolt restoration. GT items were added including grille lights, disk brakes, 15″ styled steel wheels, and exhaust through the rear valence. It sports a roller-lifter engine, T-5 5-speed, front disc brakes, upgraded suspension, and optional Pony interior. The seller says it has never had any rust and that all body panels are original.
Styled steel wheels are OEM-style 15x7s with 215/60-15 BFG rubber. The front suspension features Eibach springs, lowered control arm mounting points, and a larger front sway bar. The rear has heavy-duty leaf springs and Shelby under-rider traction bars. The car also has a Monte Carlo bar, NOS Ford export brace, and sub-frame connectors.
The engine came from a 60k-mile ‘85 Mustang GT and was professionally rebuilt. Bored .030“ over, it displaces 306 cubic inches and sports a balanced rotating assembly, Ford Motorsports B303 roller cam, World Products Windsor Jr. heads, Ford Motorsport repro Cobra dual plane manifold, Road Demon 625 CFM carb, and MSD ignition. Horsepower is estimated at 325, and we like the iconic open letter aluminum valve covers and Cobra aluminum “T” oil pan. The transmission is a Borg-Warner World Class T-5 with overdrive. The 8“ Ford rear axle has new 3.55 gears and an Auburn limited-slip unit.
The car was featured on the cover of HP Books’ “How to Restore Your Mustang.” This one offers some quality upgrades for more enjoyment on the road without making it scream “Shelby!” The excellent body, quality finish, suspension, and interior on this car help it stand out from the rest.
