Description

This is my neighbor's two-door 1952 Ford Ranch Wagon. Thecar has been in his family since new; originally bought by his grandfather andpassed down to him. He drove it up to Washington state from Californiaabout ten years ago and it's sat for most of the time.
The chrome and stainless is in really good condition and hetells me his father had the bumpers rechromed. (Like many cars from thatera, they suffered from poor quality plating due to the Korean wareffort.) The engine was rebuilt several years ago, but not many miles hasbeen put on it since then. She's a three-on-the-tree manual shift (nooverdrive) behind what we think is a 215 c.i. engine. I've not tried to start the car.
The owner's mother replaced the upholstery and headliner several years ago. There's some extra upholstery material that goes with the car.
Most of the glass is good with the exception of both doors andthe passenger's wing window - but it's flat glass, so easily replaceable. Some visible rust around the left rear wheel well.
The hood is missing a driver-side spring, but the owner has anew one that goes with the car. Passenger doors don't want to stay closedbut he tells me, with lubrication on the mechanism they will. Alsothe tailgate resists opening all the way, most likely due to non-use.
The frame looks good and I didn't see any holes in the floor, although I wasn't able to lift the front mat. In spots, undercoating haspeeled away revealing surface rust, but overall the car is totallyrestorable. Rear floors are a little crunchy, so if you're handy with awelder, you might need to replace some sheet metal.
It doesn't appear the car's ever been in a major accident as thebody is straight and the frame doesn't show signs of having been repaired. The passenger door has a shallow dent.
This isn't a car you'd want to drive away as-is. It willneed a complete restoration and some loving TLC. The owner uses Zelle and Venmo for payment, whichever one worksbest for you. If you have any questionsI will try to answer them, or forward them to Tom, the owner. He’s an auto technician by trade, so heknows cars! Thanks for looking.
