Description

This Midnight Turquoise Landau hardtop with a luxury pearl white and aqua interior was offered in 1965 for a base price of $4589. Beauty beneath the skin included the 300-horsepower 390 V-8 backed by a Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission. Power steering and brakes are standard along with Front disc brakes and sequential taillights. Production was 74,972 in 1965.
This beautiful car has just about every option available.
A/C - Blows Cold
Power Windows Function (Front only)
Power Driver Seat functions
All gauges work properly
All lights work properly (including sequential tail lights)
Original AM Radio is fully functional and has good reception (The power antenna is stuck in the up position)
Exterior:
The paint is about a 7 out of 10. There are a few chips here and there that have been touched up. It appears that someone backed into something at some point and there is a small dent in the bumper and the paint at the corner of the rear passenger quarter is cracked (See Pictures). Other than that it doesn't look like the car has been in any accidents. The doors line up perfectly and close with little to no force at all. The car maintains the original Landau hub caps that were refurbished a few years back ($300) and has original style white wall tires on 15in rims. All of the tires are in great shape and have about 75% or more tread left.
Interior:
The interior is absolutely beautiful. I'd give it an 8 out of 10. The pearl white seats look like they did the day the car rolled off the factory floor. Both front and rear are free of any tears or stains. The door panels have both been professionally repaired. Both had cracks around the handle area. The repairs were done well but aren't perfect. All of the gauges, the clock and the speedometer work as they should. The cruise control, power antenna and the rear power windows are not working. The power antenna and windows should be an easy fix, but the car is fine without them so I have left them alone. I did repair both front windows when I purchased the car. The A/C blows cold enough to keep the car nice and comfortable in the Houston heat; sometimes too cold.
Drive Train:
The 390 runs great and the Cruise O Matic transmissions shifts well. 8 out of 10. You can cruise down the highway at 75MPH with no problems. I've driven the car all over Houston with the A/C blasting in traffic and never had any issues. Both were rebuilt about 8 years ago. There is a slight exhaust leak at the passenger side manifold. In the 4 months that I've owned the car I've found about 8 small oil spots on the garage floor so there is a slight leak around the front of the oil pan. I can't tell exactly where though.
I think I have covered just about everything. This is a beautiful car that you can enjoy from the minute you get it. Take it to local shows or cruises and enjoy it year round. It is a 50 year old car so it in not without flaws. I've tried to list everything, but make no guarantees. I encourage you to come test drive the car if you are close to the Houston area.
