Description

Land Rover Defender 110 County Station Wagon TD5 2003 Epsom Green
Great TD5 defender in excellent overall condition which has been carefully maintained and thoughtfully enhanced. To almost XS spec with electric front windows and central locking. MOT until March 2016 recent oil change service at 141,000 miles now on just under 143,000. Lots of invoices and records including part service history. Body and paintwork in very good condition for age and mileage but as with all Defenders some dents to aluminium and electrolysis to cappings etc. Mechanically excellent and pulls very strongly with no drivetrain nocks etc. Interior in excellent condition with no rips or tears to fabric, rear seat row has 2 removable high backs which are very more supportive.

I spent some time looking for a 110 TD5 (owning a 200tdi 90 already) and settled on this one due to the fastidiousness of the previous owners and the carefully chosen and well executed enhancements.
The chassis is 100% and has clearly been waxoyled (or equivalent) a number of times over the years and I treated it to a further treatment (Bilt Hamber this time) at circa 135,000 miles with injection into the chassis and bulkhead and then a surface coating of the chassis as well. The previous owners had largely changed the engine oil every 6k miles and I have continued this either using fully synthetic or semi synthetic oil. I bought this Defender very much with the intention of keeping it for the long term but unfortunately a change in circumstances is dictating sale now.
Having run both 200tdi and 300tdis the TD5 is a much stronger pulling engine and whilst it is more complex than the older engines it is still very simple compared with other modern diesels (including the TDCI) and if well looked after is good for 250k miles plus with no work. In my view the TD5 is the best version of the Defender and a great long term investment especially now the Defender is no longer being made.
