Description

Land Rover Range Rover P38: 2001 Reg. Petrol 4.0 litreHere is my RARE ‘Monte Carlo Blue’ Range Rover P38 HSE 4.0 litre V8 petrol automatic, not converted to LPG. A real head turner, one of the best around and very rare in this colour. The colour alone is a cause for satisfaction, not one of the common black, dark blue or green ones. For sale now because I bought it as a weekend car, but really can’t afford two cars and my wife says it is too big & too tall. She can’t easily climb up into it even with the low setting on the suspension. 2001 registration and currently 110,300 miles, but still in daily use so may slightly increase. This is the HSE spec., so the car has power assisted steering, heated seats, electric mirrors, dual zone climate control, air conditioning, heated front & rear screens as well as all round electric windows and electrically adjusted memory front seats, reach & rake adjustable steering column, electric mirrors and cruise control. Automatic gear box with sports mode & low range gears. The head lining shows no sagging and the sunroof does not leak (I have disconnected the switch as I have been told by a Range Rover specialist, “if it doesn’t leak then leave it alone!”). Original suspension all working well and told that new suspension bags may be needed in a year or so.Good points: Two new steering arms and anti roll bar recently fitted. New rear window wiper arm & blade, new battery (3 year guarantee), replacement central switch panel with new switch pack, new regulator on the driver’s window. New brake pads front & rear. MOT until December 30th 2014, No advisories. Taxed until June, fully completed service book. Bodywork is in great condition for its age, interior in similar good condition, no tears but a small ‘ding’ on driver’s door capping (see picture). Been checked over by a Range Rover specialist dealer, advised that there are no major problems.Extra features: tinted rear side windows, which give the car a great look as well as improved security, a stainless steel exhaust from the Cat back, which just sounds great, but not too much. Lovely newer shape (L322) 20” wheels in very good condition with good tyres. Now for a few bad points: only one key (guy I bought it from said that second key was lost in one of his children’s toy boxes and that he would send it on, not arrived yet !!): slight oil leak from the rocker covers, but hasn’t used any oil since I bought it. Only displayed warning legend relates to low washer bottle (plenty of water there, so likely to be a faulty sensor). Climate control works, but could probably do with a re-gas for summer, cruise control seems intermittent. Also the car does have some slight vibration sometimes, between 55-60, which will, in time need a replacement prop shaft, if I was keeping the car I would have it done on the approach to winter, not a major problem at the moment, just taken it to Bruges for a long weekend, with no problems on French or Belgium motorways, a fine comfortable ride. (I have taken all these points into consideration on pricing). You are welcome to come and view. Please call 07773 817576
