Description
Bare metal restoration in 2011. Maintenance was continued by a Mercedes Benz Classic Car Restoration Specialist.

Original car miles about 62,000 miles. Car shows less as all instrumentation reworked and a mistake was made by leaving it at about 32,000. (documented in records)
Body was totally rebuilt with galveneal metal. Main areas of work were the Rear End, Hood, and Fenders. Work was performed by Hermann Schubert of Cologne, Germany. Hermann is a Professional Body Builder who only uses Lead and Metal for Body repair. No Polymer Body Putty was used at all on the total restoration.
Rear end was restored.
Chrome was re-chromed.
Interior was redone by International Upholstery in San Diego. This place does only high end MB, including Ralph Lauren cars.
The body frame interior was protected with a Chemical Rust Converter Coating.
Fasteners were coated and treated.
Interior wood was restored back to new Brazilian Rosewood.
Convertible top was restored.
Pain is single Stage Stand Ox German paint.
Tires are large white side wall, by Cocker Tire.
Wiring harness is new.
Engine was totally restored with Kolbenschmidt Pistons, new conn rods, new valves, cam, and all other items new, including reground crank-shaft. Fly wheel reground, new clutch.
Drive line balanced.
All new rubber grommets all over the car.
New type plates by MB in original new stock Front windshield - new original MBGrill Chrome - New MBWindshield washer system new from MBBrake booster totally restored with new parts. All brake cylinders re-sleeved in SS. All brake and fuel lines replaced with German Kunifer Tubing. Gas tank coated.Carburetors totally restored. Original decals in motor. Complete set of tools and books. Front end was aligned and wheels balanced. Becker radio was restored. Brake shoes relined. Emergency brake cabling all new.
