Description

Built February 1967, the first of the Firebirds, this rare matching numbers Firebird 400 convertible, (one of only 3,658, 400 convertibles built in 1967), this car was built at the Lordstown factory in Ohio USA, it spent most of its life in Arizona and the remainder in California, the Underbody is original and speaks volumes on the condition and life of the car, spent in the dry states of the southern half of the US, solid as and no rust.
I purchased the car in California in 2011 from a guy who had recently rebuilt the original 400 motor to a stroker 455 (7.5Ltr) with competition cam, bored 30 over, performance pistons and heads, Edelbrock hi-flow manifold, Rochester 4B carby, New (HEI) Hi-Performance Electronic Ignition, 6 Speed Richmond gear box and matched 12 bolt posi diff.
The car was repainted (Red) about 13 years ago.
The car also comes with the original mached numbers 4 speed Munci box & cross member, also the original crank shaft, heads, pistons, distributor and other sundry engine components.
There are also a number of new components I bought in the US that came out with the car, but I have not yet been able to fit or finish off due to health limitations, these include, fully chromed power Disc kit, new soft top pump and hose kit, new set of Hooker Headers, set of five brand new in the box US Mags (see pics), 18"chromed electric fan & other sundry items etc.
The car is not a show car but shows very well, with trophies to back it up, the paint has a few blemishes and chips but really polishes up well, I’d rate it as a 4 foot paint job and a real head turner whenever I take it out for a run.
If you require more photos of specific things about the car please let me know.
My reason for selling my much loved Firebird is mainly due to my health & physical limitations, so if you are a genuine buyer wanting to own a rare and genuine piece of US Muscle car history, give me a call, please understand I will only respond to genuine enquiries through the proper channels and contact medium.
My asking price for this awesome machine is $48,500, payable through PayPal or direct bank deposit to my nominated account.
