Description

Up for sale is a 2006 Pontiac GTO. I am the 4th owner of this vehicle, and I am well aware of its history. I have owned this since it had 48000 miles on the clock. It has been very reliable, and I have modified it extensively. Mechanically, everything is fully functional, down to the heat, AC, Windows exc. I have maintained everything meticulously since I have owned the vehicle. Transmission fluid has been changed 2 times since I have owned it with Pennzoil Synchromesh. The rear end changed twice with Torco 85w140 w/Type F friction modifier. Engine Oil has been changed every 7000 miles with Royal Purple HPS 5w/30
This is a rebuilt title, and I have noticed nothing that would make this vehicle inferior to any other GTO. This happened at 30000 miles, and the owner decided to salvage the vehicle, as parts are very expensive to replace. So it is very easy to total out this car. Especially since Illinois salvage percentage is 33.3 percent of the cars value. The previous owner has provided me with photos of the damage. Nothing structural was damaged, otherwise it would be noted in the vehicle history report. Mainly the core radiator support had to be replaced. They opted for a stock 04 hood, as the 05 and 06 hood was twice as expensive, hence why the hood is missing. The car was certified within spec by the auto body shop. The previous owner showed me the papers, and since then, I cannot find them. Otherwise I would have not purchased the vehicle. Granted if there was something wrong with the vehicle, I would not have driven it for 58000 miles without issue. All mods were done because I am a gear head.
The car has also had 3000 dollars worth of body work done to it this summer. This was to take care of small door dings, chipping clear coat, faded paint exc. All wear and tear. The paint looks amazing for a car of this age, as there are hardly any chips or scratches. No dings. Just a very small one on the driver side.
This is a wonderful muscle car, and grabs looks everywhere. It drives straight, motor is very stout, uses no oil. I am selling it as I need to save up for a house, and this must go in order to support that. Otherwise I would keep it. The only thing I can think of is the headers will need to be replaced shortly due to corrosion. Keep in mind, I do not expect to get my money back from upgrades. Typically with a rebuilt title this would go around 9000-10000, but with the body work, I think the asking price is fair. Feel free to make an offer.
List of enhancements:
• Volant Cold Air Intake, with IAT breakout harness and improved IAT sensor.
• Ported Stock Intake
• American Racing 1"3/4 headers, no cats, X pipe, stock rear exhaust. Quiet at idle, screams at full throttle.
• New plugs installed at 68000 miles. NGK Iridium, with Taylor Thunderbolt 10.4mm Wires.
• New Water Pump installed 103000 miles.
• MGW Proxies Short Throw Shifter. This item alone was 350 dollars. Shifts like a dream. 2-3 shift is done for you. If you have used the stock shifter, you will know what I mean.
• Dyno tuned with paperwork. All aftermarket mods were installed prior to tune. Custom tuned on a Superflow WynDyn 3.0. Put 350 at the wheels. According to the tuner, if it was a Mustang Dyno, it would be closer to 380 at the wheels. The dyno is more accurate, and incorporates density, and atmospheric conditions in real life.
• Full Pedders suspension bushing upgrade, including subframe bushings. Strut Mounts, and bearings were changed at 60000 miles, along with KYB struts and shocks. Drag bags in the rear. Stock springs. 800.00
• BMR Subframe Connectors. Installed with suspension loaded. 390.00
• New driveshaft installed at 100000 miles. Heavy duty 2 piece solution from GTOG8TA.com 650.00
• Monster Stage 2 clutch, flywheel and throwout bearing installed at 65000 miles. Stainless Steel Braided Clutch line. Professional install. 1300.00
• Pontiac G8 SLP Firehawk rims. 19" diameter 255/35/19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. These rims were CNC machined to fit a Pontiac GTO. Custom one offs. These rims are hard to find. Fits very snug around the hub to avoid steering wheel shake, known issue with these vehicles. 2000.00
• DBA 4000XS HD Series disc brakes and pads installed at 75000 miles. Best disc brakes for this car that are based on stock design. 500.00
• JVC KW-XR810 Headunit. Steering wheel controls still work just fine with this unit. Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity.
Thank you for looking, and feel free to ask questions.
