Description

Here we go again. After 2 bogus high bidders, I'm relisting my 1983 Renault LeCar. Vehicle was purchased in 06 and in disrepair and engine items were partially disassembled. Replaced engine mounts, rebuilt carb., replaced starter and intake manifold gasket, replaced fuel pump, drained and cleaned fuel tank, then got it running. Adjusted the valves and replaced valve cover gasket. Replaced water pump due to leaking pump. Cooling system and heater core held water, and cooling fan works properly. (fan relay was missing, Installed new one) Replaced the steering universal joint. ( I purchased and extra one) Recharged AC system and system works well. Had the front and rear seats redone. The carpet is original and looks good. Had the sunroof redone. Brake shoes and wheel cylinder on rear were replaced. Replaced left front hub bearings and brake pads and rotors on front. Then the body work began. New paint job in factory color. The decals were reproduced by a local sign shop. Found some replacement wheels as the old ones were rusted. Replaced outer axle boots.
I do drive the vehicle occasionally. I am selling due to lack of interest and lack of time to find more parts.
The mileage is stuck on 72000 miles. The drive gear in the transmission is damaged. The speedo cable is ok and the driven gear is ok.
The heater blower motor has a broken fan wheel. I have not been able to find one.
The high beams do not work and needs a new switch.
Fresh air door is missing on heater box.
Horn is inoperative. Also a headlamp switch issue.
Axle seals are leaking. Unable to find seals.
The rear wiper motor and switch in dash is missing.
No spare with vehicle, but jack and tool kit is there.
Many extra parts in trunk.
If i think of anything else, I'll add it.
This has been fun restoring this car. I was a Renault tech at a local dealership and wanted to get another LeCar to play with.
