Description

Bought the car just over a month ago. Should know better than to trust people on Craigslist. Immediately the ECU failed and found broken coil pack on cylinder 4. Repaired all of this to now have it running very well.
Body in great shape for the year, paint shines nicely in most areas. Some clear coat peeling on side mirrors and back bumper. Some paint cracking on top of back bumper as well.
Replaced ECU with reprogrammed ECU ($500 process) from Brew City Boost. Car runs great now. Replaced spark plugs and cylinder 4 coil pack. (have 3 more used coil packs that will come with car) Replaced valve cover gasket and brake vacuum pump gasket due to oil leak. One valve cover gasket bolt is broken off on passenger side and would need to be drilled out if so desired. Didn't cause me any trouble. Replaced seat adjuster cables for both front seats. A/C system checked by Pep Boys and found to be in good working condition. Heat works very well too. New rotors and brake pads on front. Rear brakes were replaced prior to my purchasing the car.
Leather seats in good shape as are door panels and carpet. Radio works well as does CD player. Passed GA emissions after replacing ECU without any issues and there are no check engine lights or codes. Has two factory keys. Tires are all matching and in great condition with lots of miles left.
Quirks: occasionally not all automatic door locks will lock or unlock. Usually the passenger back door which then gives a driver alert that the lock system needs service. Comes and goes with no pattern so I left it alone. Most times all the locks work normally. Fuel sending unit malfunctions if tank is filled over 3/4 tank. Reads at empty when full. Once below 3/4 tank it works fine. Needs new fuel sending unit which is integrated into fuel pump on gas tank in the 2003 models. About $100 for the pump. Again, didn't bother me, so I did not drop the gas tank to replace.
Car drives straight and smooth, turbo kicks in correctly. Fairly fast car for a 4 cylinder. Selling as I bought a different car while doing the repairs on this one and I like the other one more. Sold as is with no warranty. I have tried to describe honestly what has been done to get car running properly and what minor issues remain. Mileage may go up as we do still drive the car at times.
Car listed for sale locally and I reserve the right to end listing early if car sells locally before end of auction.
