SDR V-Storm Kit Car

Driving on the A5 through Bethesda, the taxi in front that felt like a rolling road block. Finally he indicates left and pulls over to pick up his fare. Now I only need to travel a little further to the national speed limit zone, and I'll see the true character of this car. The sign comes into view, with a short movement of the hand from the steering wheel the car is quickly forced into third gear in preparation, then as I pass the sign, the disinctive roar from the v-twin takes over and the car is hauled forward to 60mph pushing me back tightly into the seat. The first corner soon appears at the nose of the car, turning in without any attempt to adjust the speed, the semi slick tyres dig into the tarmac and lure the car round as if the corner was only a microscopic kink in the road. The bends keep comming quickly, each one providing a new challenge with their increasing tightness. Knowing that in the daily hot hatchback these corners would be impossible to entertain at anywhere near this speed, the car feels truly unbelievable as the tarmac disappears under the front tyres around each corner, the car never moving even slightly from it's intended line. Surely somewhere down this road there must be something that can make this car forced to give up and slow down. After a short but exciting 15 minutes of relentless twists, the 30mph sign entering into Betws-y-Coed marked an end to this wonderul burst of enjoyment. This is just one of the incredible experiences I've had while owning this truly unique car. It has been an absolute pleasure, and now it's your chance to take the reigns and create your own driving memories. I take this car regularly to the Kit Car shows so if you have visited you may have already seen it in pride of place on the RHOCar club stand. I have also taken this to a track day with other kit cars at Barkston Heath, a very tight and technical track, with this car posting times not beaten by any of the other road legal cars. This 3 seater car with the flawless central driving position runs the V-Twin engine from an Aprilia RSV outputting around 130bhp through it's 6 speed sequential gearbox. Full reverse is provided with an Elite Racing Mechanical box fitted between the gearbox output shaft and the Ford Sierra differential.
Handling and comfort is given from the Yokohama AO48r tyres, wrapped around 15inch OZ Ultraleggera alloys, operating through pushrod operated coilovers both front and rear.
Stopping power is provided by Wilwood 4 Pot calipers on the front and discs all around.
All of this in a car weighing aroung 500kg creates a very quick, safe and agile car, that works well on both the track and the road.
