Up for auction is one of our family cars. This beast has it all - Powerful Quad Cam 3.4L V6 engine, 4WD, reversing sensors, rear camera, factory installed bull bar and tow bar (removable), Redarc electric trailer brake controller (EB) (for controlling brakes on trailer/caravan), PLUS 8 seats - room for the whole family! Who needs brand new, when properly serviced regularly, these things run forever! When they talk about Toyota's being durable, this is one of those vehicles that definitely lives up to the hype.
Mechanically the engine is very strong, transmission and differentials also work perfectly.
We just recently got it looked over for safety and maintenance, and had a full service done, which included new spark plugs, engine oil and oil filter changed, front and rear differential and transmission oil changed, water coolant flushed and replaced, brake fluids flushed and replaced and park brake adjusted.
The engine bay is clean with no visible oil or water leaks, and the floor underneath is always clean. Exhaust fumes are also clear. The steering turns perfectly with no clunks or noises. The car accelerates responsively, even with a full load of kids and other gear.
All electronics in the car work - windows, central locking, radio/CD player, antenna motor and lights. There are 2 x 12v plugs at the front, and 1 at the rear - very useful for long trips needing power to smartphones, dvd players etc.
Air conditioning blows nice cool air, with ducted air for your rear passengers - perfect for the upcoming warmer months.
The brakes work very well, and it stops very quickly when needed, however our mechanic mentioned that the front rotors will either need replacing or machining sometime soon.
Besides running on fuel, it also has LPG gas fitted, which recently has had some unusual flow issue which we got looked at by a LPG expert. We now have been running on LPG for the last few days without a problem.
There is approximately 60-70% tread left on all tyres, with the spare having full unused tread.
The car presents well externally, with some paint fading on the bonnet and roof, with all other panels most likely needing a good polish. There is an indentation on the passenger side door which can be seen in the pictures. There is no visible rust. Internally, the car also presents well, with no tears on seats, with the occasional mark here and there.
Whilst owning this car, we have only driven it on road.
It has been an extremely reliable car so far, and we are sure the new owners will enjoy this car for years to come.
This car is just a pleasure to drive and we are sure to miss it once its been sold.
Interstate bidders will need to organise their own freight.
Inspections are welcome!
UPDATE: *** Timing belt and oil seals were replaced at 176,000km in 06/06/08
