Description

Hello, this rare 1967 Triumph TR4A straight axle car has been in my family for about 35 Years. The straight axle TR4A was a limited run production ( exact #'s unknown to me ) as most TR4A's are IRS rear. The race guys apparently didn't want the live axle so a limited number were built with the straight axle to accommodate this demand. This car was obtained by my father in Western/Central Canada as a pretty much rust free car when purchased. The car was rarely used by him, and when he passed years ago I purchased it from the estate. I proceeded to rebuild the car around 2002 or 2003 ? I replaced trunions brake parts bearings and many wear type mechanical parts. The engine was detailed and many parts cad plated and or polished. The body was prepped and it was sprayed red. The paint is a home job and a 10 footer at best ( my skills have since improved some since then ), I rarely drove the car and so it has sat indoors then under cover since 2006. The tires and wheels were new when redone, tires are Dunlops and still look great and hold air, the wheels have held up well as well. The car has handled the sit quite well and a full; However, light restoration will be needed. The chrome is all pretty good as well as most lenses and trim parts. I started installing the brand new wood dash and glove box, as well as passenger grab handle. I have 2 new door panels and toppers as well as a brand new convertible top ( all go with the car ). I also have 2 full cockpit covers with central zipper, 1 white 1 black ) as well as top cover. This car really deserves to be restored to its former glory, and should not take much work to bring it back. Bear in mind the engine or drivetrain have not been used in almost 10 years, although I think it did run 5 years ago to be moved. The original wheels and hub caps are also going with the car if I am able to locate them, I have the hub caps for sure not 100% on all 4 wheels. Ask questions schedule a viewing, it will be worth the trip. This car is being sold at no reserve so once there is a bid it will sell. Remember bidding is a commitment to buy, and it is being sold as is where is with no warranty implied or expressed. I have not had a chance to get underneath to obtain photos, nor did I remove from its covered location so the pictures are showing it as it sits. If anyone wants more photos of a specific area I will do my best. Again ask questions, come look at this fine automobile. Clear ownership in my name ready for that next good home.
