Description

I have some videos available, please ask. Currently the truck is inside a storage building. If desired, would give free storage for a few weeks if you need time to pick it up arrange transport.
Here for sale my Volvo TGB11 (military version of famous Paris-Dakar winner Volvo C303), also similar to Steyr Puch Pinzgauer and forward control Jeeps and Land Rover. The Volvo is rare compared to the Pinz and is Water cooled with a Million miles B30 engine (6cyl version of the B20). The most important feature of the Volvos is the portal axle (like Unimog) system with vacuum lockers. The axles alone are selling for the price of a truck. Anyway you probably know all this stuff if you are into Euro trucks
Last fall we went on a 3 hour trip with the kids. The truck is alright on the hwy at 95KM/H (about 55MPH). It starts right away, does not overheat, I would not mind driving this truck for 5-6 hours to bring it back home on it's own power.
Not a rust bucket at all like most, not a project truck. In perfect original condition. No rust on body and frame. New aluzinc body replaced by Swedish army at high cost. Very good mechanical condition. Had local safety inspection. Is currently plated, insured and used locally on a weekly basis when the weather is nice in summer. Never been in salt. Starts easily in any weather. Test drive on accepted offer only. Reluctantly selling my Euro truck collection only to finance a major business project.
No rust at all. Some military paint is missing and showing the red primer under. There is no rust on the body at all. I just added pictures showing the missing military paint, you can see red/brown primer. This is not rust, the body is alu-zinc, won't rust.
GOOD POINTS:
-75000 original KM (about 45,000 miles)
-in Canada for last 4 years, adult owned, good condition, never been abused, kept in heated garage all the time
-2 new big truck batteries(24 volt system), starts easily, brake system serviced, good over all condition
-transfer case and transmission are perfect.
-engines is working fine, a tune up would not hurt for top performance
-portal axles, lockers and vacuum system is working well
-no surprise, not a project truck, ready to go
-99.999% original (only the flasher arm was replaced with an hot rod style one to pass a safety inspection)
Please note: people take pictures of the truck when ever fueling or parked at the grocery store, ladies just can't stop talking to you when picking up a coffee in the morning, truck drivers at a truck stop will gather around, kids will stop their bike to look at you.. this truck has got me a lot more attention then I wanted, be prepare to a lot of questions. If you have a small business, just park it in front and watch people stop by. If you do not have a business, you may want to rent it to any tire shop, tool store, car part store, hunting and fishing supply store
LITTLE THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO IMPROVE:
-Plexiglas windows may need replacement (rear trunk and two side ones, easy to do). Two rear side plastic windows are a little fuzzy, rear plastic window has a crack. You may as well kept these like that if you have no passengers. All 6 front glass windows, including the two windshields are perfect, no chips or cracks.
-Small leak at rear engine main seal (too small to fix, unless you want to make it perfect) that part is easy to find from a Volvo 164. I could have skip that one, it's only a few drops after running warm and then sitting for a week. No other leak.
-Fuel gauge not working (probably just a wire to check). It was working before I replaced the flasher arm 3 years ago.
-No door keys.
-I find the front leaf springs a little soft, I cannot say if this is normal, I have never driven an other one.
-5 pcs military tires on original rims, the 4 mounted ones have about 30-50% thread left, these are HD military tires, you may drive for an other 3000 miles and go home with confidence. One of them is like new and I keep it as the spare tire. See below I have a set of new tires included only at Buy it now price. You need to change the tires only for maximum off-road traction and for noise reduction and ride comfort.
NEW TIRES AND ALL SPARE PARTS INCLUDED ONLY AT BUY IT NOW PRICE:
-4pcs LT315/75R-16 Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac (brand new never installed)
-some spare wheel cylinders, one complete brake shoe set (the current brakes are fine), spare CV boots, various 24volts relays, bulbs and Euro fuses.
I hope this truck will find a good home and a good owner to take real good care.
Would help with shipping and export if needed.
Canadian buyers to pay sales taxes (GST, PST, HST) depending on your Province. The truck is registered in my business' name.
100$ non-refundable in cash or paypal required to hold it for 10 days. Would keep in inside storage up to 4 weeks once paid for.
Not the ideal freeway truck. Would do 60mph. I suggest picking up with a trailer or ship on a flatbed if you live more than 8 hours away. I have a ramp to load on a truck or into a container.
USA buyers: You may pick-up the car here with a Uhaul trailer and tow it back home (or drive it back home if you are in VT or upstate NY).
The custom duty rate to pay at the border is 2.5% of the invoice. If you cannot pick-up and cross the border, you need to hire a custom broker (about 100$) and a car carrier (about 1000 to 3000$ I would guess depending on location). See uship.com.
Please BE SERIOUS, or keep dreaming if you do not have the money.
