Description
NO RESERVE, PRIVATE AUCTION!
Current tags, past registration brought current, just sent in a PNO in the event I do decide to keep it (current registration expires 8/14)
Purchased 2 or 3 years ago with the intent to restore it. Picked up and driven from Sacramento to Concord: 70 - 80 miles of fun driving and lots of admiration along the way! It got me home without stalling and that made the mark. Basically been sitting in my driveway since. I start it and go round the block occasionally, or switch driveway spots. Most recently was driven in January (see video). The battery needs a charge, always fires up. And it does not leak oil (driveway lucked out) - if you know Alfa's they all do!
The car was last owned by a famous rock singer's son. It was presumably popular in the Reno circuits!
It has some period enhancements:
-front and rear spoilers
-roll bar
-Carello covers
-Parrish hardtop
-Carrol Shelby mag wheels with good tires
- uninstalled new soft top in trunk (I frankly haven't checked it - came with the car in a bag in the trunk)
-racing seat (comes with original)
-unknown sports exhaust tip
-does NOT come with a car cover (in the event one is visible in pictures)!
It may look good in pictures but there is need for body work and a good paint job. It's a good project for someone who is mechanically inclined and knows Alfa's or if you have the resources to restore it. It's getting harder to find a mechanic in the Bay Area who will work on post 75 Alfa's!
Needs and what I would do:
- bodywork, repaint (in original blue). Some usual rust spots - front / rear typical wheel areas.
- replace driver's seat to original (it comes with the original seat) - reupholster seats (no carpeting, appears this came with rubber mats - lighter)
- check and recondition all instruments (erratic)
- check and repair gearbox - rear pops out (you have to hold it to reverse)
- go over mechanicals (electronic starter, points, plugs, konis, Anzsa dual tips, lowering springs, fluid changes, smog pump, etc).
- There is NO rear bumper.
Values are on the rise. Check Haggerty (copy & paste): style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt;">
