Description

Convertible Alfa Romeo Spider JTS 2007
If you are looking at this I would assume that you already know about the car and that it is effectively a roofless Brera Coupe, very beautiful and very lovely to be in.
It is the 2.2 petrol which is probably the best balance of performance and handling and in my opinion is in the right colour with the right 18 inch telephone dial wheels.
It is low mileage for the year and has a fully dealer stamped service book and all the dates and mileages line up and make sense.
It has been very reliable. When I bought it I thought that I was buying with my heart and not my head but this proved not to be the case, it has never let me down.
Nothing other than routine servicing and one brake light. It is low mileage for the year and has a fully dealer stamped service book and all the dates and mileages line up and make sense.
I have had to buy tyres (all the proper Pirelli P Zeros) and a rear exhaust box rusted.
I found that a custom stainless steel exhaust was the same price as a standard one and so had one made locally.
It has a lifetime guarantee, is much lighter than the original.
It is not too loud but sounds beautiful with a burble at tick over and on the overrun and quite a howl if you get carried away.
The car is very good to look at and causes much comment and it is in good condition.
The interior is very practical. It is spacious, comfortable and looks very stylish and the leather and aluminium have actually proved extremely hard wearing.
It is more practical than I was expecting, cruising is easy, chassis very stable and the boot is reasonable and the car very comfortable.
However I have the roof down all the time unless it is raining.
Very little buffeting and the heater is volcanic, the worst thing for a roof (so I have been told) is to leave it up all winter and then expect it to work in the spring and I certainly haven't done this.
Of my 14,000 miles I would anticipate that about 12,000 have been with the roof off.
I self serviced the mechanism with some oil on some of the joints as a precaution but it has been faultless in operation and practical.
It is double lined and has a heated glass screen.
However the main thing to remember is that the car looks stunning, it is a pleasure to travel in, it can cover ground very quickly, the engine sounds superb and is incredibly smooth and the clutch, brakes and throttle response make driving it properly very satisfying if you know how to press the pedals.
The other thing, and not easily quantifiable, is that everyone loves Alfas, there is no negativity which is nice and everyone seems to want to talk to you about it.
I'm sure you can appreciate the beauty of this car , a great car for the ladies !
