1968 AMC AMX

This auction is for an exceptionally rust free 1968 AMX. The car was bought new in California and has been stored in doors for the last 20 years. The floors are like new in the car with only some staining from the asphalitic insulation otherwise the would be bright white. The trunk is also almost perfect with only some scrapes. There is no rust around the windows front or rear and the body is very straight. The seats have been nicely done and the material is soft and supple and looks great, the dash is very nice with no damage. It looks like it was repainted once in the original white with some black accents added to the roof around the rear window and trunk deck. I have old polaroid photos of the car from the 1970s showing the car with black around the hood scoop also. The car was originally a 290 car , but now has a 390 engine. The engine is partially disassembled, but I believe most of the parts are present. Some new parts come with the car, mostly brakes parts. I don’t have the rear bumper or valance, the rocker trim on the passenger side is missing and the small chrome piece that goes along the lower edge of the hood is missing. The hood is from a 1970 AMX. I was told that was a popular swap in the 1970s. It has a limited slip differential and three of the original wheels with center caps, one is missing.The window trim and interior trim is in the back. The original steering wheels is included. The body itself is very straight and rust free, but the paint is cracking, I don’t see any areas of previous body damage or body filler. I sanded off the worst of the flaking paint and reprimered and found nothing but solid metal and no filler or rust. I can send photos of that on request. This Car is in exceptional condition for an unrestored car even for a car from California. After receiving payment I can store the car for up to 60 days if a buyer needs time to pick it up. I will be happy to assist your shipper. This will be an easy restoration project for someone with no rust repaired needed and very little body work, like a couple dings. I have the registration, release of interest form on the vehicle and a California Certicate of none operation, so no back fees in California.
