1961 AMC Classic Super, 4 door

!961 Rambler Classic Super. 199 CID 6 cylinder, 128 HP. 3 speed with overdrive. 38,000 original miles. The Super was the middle trim line between the base and custom models. Purchased new in Wyoming. This is an all original car except for seat belts added front and rear at some point (not stock Rambler belts). Includes a trunk full of spare parts some OEM some NOS parts. I replaced the muffler and exhaust pipe several years ago with an NOS muffler. The engine starts and runs. I installed an electric fuel pump which can be easily removed. Additionally, Recently I replaced the OEM Holly carburetor with a new generic carb. The photos show the Holly carb which needs to be rebuilt. Front end suspension needs a complete rebuild, I have many replacement parts. The starter was rebuilt about 3 years ago because I could not find a replacement. Also radiator was reconditioned due to the same problem, no available replacements. Under carriage was steam cleaned but could use another cleaning. Tires are standard passenger radials with very few miles. There is surface rust on the roof and some rust holes on each front fender. I traced the problem to a faulty ventilation drain hose that was disconnected in the interior. The windlace and rubber around the doors needs replacing. The trunk is in excellent condition with the original mat, jack, tire iron and spare. Seats were covered in clear plastic for years however the backseat stitching across the top has failed. The interior is in great shape for a 60 year old car. Radio does work but not the electric clock. Lights and turn signals work. The drivers door lock needs to be replaced. Clutch is OK but I would replace if you do any other engine work.I have owned this car since 2002 and have decided to let someone else finish the project. I will be happy to answer any questions.
