Description
If you like AMC Eagles and are looking for a barn find, this might be it. I know because it comes from my “barn”. I bought this 1987 wagon (AMC went out of business in 1988) about 2000 from a lady in Annapolis, Maryland. She said she the car came from Massachusetts. I drove it to Tennessee and it has been parked inside unused with the rest of my AMCs until the last few months as I prepared it for sale. This wagon pretty much is the way it came out of the factory. There has been no tinkering and sabotaging. The engine runs smoothly and the transmission shifts nicely. Everything is original except I replaced the carpet (back to the original color) and added the fog lights (there were already holes in the front bumper.) It is rust free and obviously has been garaged most of its life. In my opinion, the chrome is exceptional and the anodized bumpers remain in very good condition. The driver seat has some small rips and what appears to be a small cigarette burn (see pictures.) There is a strange dent in the hood that appears to have come from a loose shock absorber sometime in its life (again, see picture.) Most things seem to work –4WD, power windows, power door locks, front and rear wipers and washers, rear window defroster, adjustable mirrors, gas gauge, to name a few. There are no major oil leaks. The AC worked when I bought the car but now needs charging (the heater hose cutoff still works.) Only AM on the radio works (it is the original.) The paint is original and has a few minor nicks. The cruise control does not work. It attempts to engage but won’t lock in. The tires have plenty of tread but are old. I consider this car an unusual find and overall exceptional but it is a 34-year-old classic car and is sold as is with no guarantees. Payment can be made in full by cash, bank transfer, money order or personal check. The title will be available once the money order or check clear my bank. I live near Knoxville, Tennessee. There is no rush on pickup. It will remain parked inside.
