1960 Rambler
Cross Country Wagon
AZ desert survivor
NO RESERVE bid on it to win !
SUPER RARE CAR and if you are a Joe Dirt Fan, youll remember
this is the basically the same car his family had in the movie
when they left him at the Grand Canyon.
There are so many ways to build this car as long as you
do it well, its a win win situation for everyone. Back to stock?
Restomod ? Ratrod ? Im thinking patina-mobile outside, w/ a
restored interior and drivetrain would be sweet.
I wish it was his Superbird, but maybe next time :)
We suggest viewing our auction on normal large monitors
and or tablet to get the most out of our large easy to view pics.

style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS"; font-size: x-large;">BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Here is our 1960 Rambler Cross Country wagon. It was literally last driven
back in 1973. Under the hood is the original straight 6 with the water pump
and fan removed. Turns over by hand. Not sure what else the engine or
trans may need. What looks to be the original paint or whats left of it you can
see its a very straight, solid Az body etc. Minimal rust esp for its age. Also has
a very rare swing open tailgate. Rolls and steers only. It is a well optioned car, with and
a great color combination from factory. The interior must of been
beautiful when new. This sled still looks great from any angle and has tons
of potential for the buyer for a new project.
But its about 95% complete at least and you wont
be having to chase down alot of parts etc. MUCH MORE DETAILS BELOW

Up for Auction: I wont end it early, sorry.
DRIVETRAIN: under the hood is your typical
AMC straight 6 and probably the original motor and
trans. Missing a few components. Push button trans
is a pretty cool touch.
Rest of it looks pretty complete and un touched. Motor does
turn over by hand at least. Auto trans from the factory.
Trans and all should be fine, but prob a good idea to expect
to go thru the motor to be safe or swap it.
INTERIOR: take a look at pics, pretty much dry vinyl
and old original upholstery etc. It will need almost a full
resto here, but the floors are very solid at least. The
chrome and stainless are decent and will polish up nicely.
No major pitting etc. Front seats fold back to lay down
position, pretty cool. Has 3rd row rear face seating too.
Some cool options. All the glass is good except one side
1/4 window missing and windshield is cracked on the far
passenger side.
EXTERIOR: you are seeing what the AZ sun can do to paint
after 35 or so yrs. Solid rot free Az frame. Mild rust found
on the pass side rocker and lower part of the tailgate. Speaking
of which, the hinges on the tailgate appear to be broken. It
opens and kinda closes, but not correctly. Rare option for
the sideways open design. Glass rolls up and down fine. Im
almost sure thats whats left of the original Burgandy-ish
and white two tone paint. Aprox 57k original miles too.
SUSPENSION: the suspension looks pretty much like the way
it came from the factory and complete. Ride height looks to have never been altered. Rolls and steers, but the tires are very old and rollers at best. Does still retain the original 15"
steel wheels.

it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll bar on the right side.
