Description

Up for Sale my A2 1.6 Fsi,
2002 76k FSH, original fitment 17" alloys, and recent tyres, sports seats, climate control, Electric windows, Electric mirrors, Power steering, all the usual Audi creature comforts, superb sound system with a Kenwood 10 disc autochanger
Coach work is clean and bright and has the odd mark consummate with age, interior has worn well and nothing jumps out, nice and clean through out.
On the road it drives really well with loads of grip, a firm but comfortable ride. A real pleasure to drive andplenty of power, you keep forgetting that your in 5th gear it cruises so nicely and the drive it is not harsh like a lot of mini type cars, the Audi quality shows through.
Around town urban driving is 40mpg, higher on longer journeys. (see picture 10)
A nice touch is the rear seats, they fold down and can be removed like a suitcase using a handle in the base, leaving a large space.
Recent tyres, new battery, refurbished alternator, EGR and thermostat valves replaced.
Good points
10 months MOT, only required a bulb and track rod end.
40 mpg urban, more on the motorway
Everything works as it should
A/C is cold and works unlike a lot of cars
Above average condition
Bad points
Alloys could do with some tlc
Engine managment light on, fault code P0599/98
( code translates as electronic thermostat - however it has been replaced and the fault will not reset. There are a few possibilities and all have been investigated, the thermostat has been replaced, all connections cleaned and belled out i.e. continuity test and water system pressurised to check for leaks. The ECU has been interrogated by two separate specialists and each time the thermostat operates as it should, it opens at 107 degrees and closes at 101 degrees against software parameters of 109 and 102) There is no fault that can be found.
The best any specialist could come up with was irregular voltage causing a spurious signal or a bad connection somewhere. So this was the reason for the voltage regulator in the alternator being replaced and the alternator refurbished. While checking for bad connections I found that the EGR valve had a previous repair on the plug socket, so I replaced the complete valve as a matter of course.
I have used the car every other day to commute back and forth to work with no trouble at all you forget it is a small car. It is just a pain to have the light on.
This is a honest appraisal of a super little car, howeveri have decided to reduce the price to £1400 or very near offer.
The reason for this sale is that my wife prefers to use her Citroen Picasso.
I would consider a swap or p/x on an old Triumph or BMW 70's or 80's
I am also willing to bring the car to the Seven Bridge or M50/M5 interchange as a goodwill gesture for the cost of my fuel.
Note
Non-refundable deposit to be payed straight after the auction end (£100)
