Description

The car is a black 2003 A2 1.4 TDI sport, with 4 former owners excluding myself. The car easily passed its MOT back in April 2015 (110,999 miles), with a single advisory regarding the front discs being corroded. It is relatively low mileage for a diesel of this age with 114293 on the clock (will not go up any more as I use another car on a daily basis now). If you have owned one of these A2's then you know they are planted like a go kart with a firm but comfortable ride. Plenty of power/turbo boost and cruises nicely, the Audi quality shows through.
Pros
Cruise controlAir-con (digital climate control panel)2 remote/central locking keysFull working DIS, 50 MPG easily attainableRed leather seats, steering wheelAll paintwork is original, body is aluminium so no rust issues£30 road taxMOT due April 2016Handles like a dream with 215/40WR17 tiresEngine sounds and runs wonderfullyFront electric windowsIncludes spare wheel, jack and tire changing kit, 2 x Audi puncture filler, black polishI have never filled it with cheap supermarket fuel, only Shell or BP branded fuel
Cons
Throughout the car, there are some remnants of a custom speaker system and security system installed by the very first owner, with numerous screw covers on the front doors, and an additional battery next to the main battery in the rear of the car (see pictures)One of the remote/central locking keys is welded together (still works fine) (see pictures)The bodywork has a few scratches, although these are rarely visible due to the black colour. 2 scratches are on the left rear door, and a few on the corners of the front bumper. There is a small dent on the rear of the car, suspiciously at supermarket trolley height. There is a small pellet sized dent next to the fuel filler cap and a small dent on the left hand front door. Not noticeable unless you're seriously looking. Photos make it look much worse than it is! (see detailed pics below)Despite being recently replaced, the boot sensor sometimes plays up and insists the boot is open on the DIS when it isn'tBoth rear light covers cracked slightly on the lowermost lightThe left rear seat is stuck in the upright position. I made matters worse by trying and failing to angle grind the seat out. As I didn't have a large enough angle grinder, it is still secured in the car, although with a wooden patch over the angle grind location (see detailed pics below)Tiny scuff marks on the left rear alloy wheelFront brake discs are corroded, pads are OKFinally, within the last 4 or 5 months, the car, on a rare occasion, has trouble going into third gear (just needs the gear lever pushed in twice to get it in - the kind of thing only a petrolhead would notice). Having just graduated university, I am financially unable to look into this. I would love to have been able to take the car to 200k miles at least.Customisations
