Price is $10,500 OBO, need to sell fast but this will be listed wide so lowballs will be ignored. Clean title in-hand. Please note this car needs an exhaust, which you can replace with factory new, used, or aftermarket. Car runs and drives but the exhaust leak is very loud and need to be fixed immediately. Great opportunity for a turbo build. Selling as-is.
This 2006 Audi A3 3.2 Quattro S-Line has 136,685mi and is mostly great condition aside from the exhaust and several minor issues that I will disclose here. Car is practical, safe, cheap to insure, and a joy to drive. Mechanically it has been extremely well maintained with modifications mostly limited to the brakes and suspension. This car was fully loaded with every option you could get on an A3 at the time, and has had one owner since purchase at what is now Audi Grapevine in Texas.
Exterior:
This Audi has been tapped while parked several times over its life with all repairs done professionally. All dents and scratches have been fixed, though the paint on the hood does have a few small rock chips since, a lift arm dented the front passenger rocker (only visible if you get down on your knees) and there is a small dent on the front bumper. Absolutely no rust or anything of that sort. The paint is Lava Grey Pearl and looks beautiful when clean, almost black with lots of flake. All windows are tinted and in perfect shape, rear defroster works great and wipers are all fairly new.Wheels are stock 17" alloys but do have a little curb rash, currently have Michelin Pilot Super Sports mounted with decent tread left, can measure if desired. I would recommend running the PSS down and then making the factory wheels the winter set. I have 4 Michelin X-Ice in great shape with very low miles I will throw in with sale.
Lighting:
Headlights are factory bi-xenon with cornering motors that were opened to "Joey mod" them with dark gray/black hi-temp paint, along with TSX-R lenses and high quality Phillips OSRAM 5500k bulbs (just replaced), and LED turn signals that have the correct resistors. After years and years, the headlights have no shown and issues with resealing or water intrusion and they function great with a beautiful cut-off. Front bumper markers were swapped from Orange to an exact-fit smoked lens. Taillights are factory Euro LED from a 2009+MY using an aftermarket harness that has been configured already. They look great and you get amber turn signals as well, and brand-new LED reverse lights. The rear license plates lights have been swapped to LED but have some issues maybe due to the entire rear harness not having enough resistance. They should easily swap back to stock, or you can troubleshoot resistance and get them working fine.
Interior:
The driver's bottom seat bolster has a common tear and the bottom tilt function has power to the motor but seems to spin freely, likely just needs to have the seat removed and the gear realigned. All other seats look great. Rear door lock mechanisms have issues but will lock successfully, I would still replace if you will use the back seat. Rear windows also operate slow. Takata airbags have been properly replaced at Audi dealerships through BOTH recalls. All interior lights have been replaced with LED. Buttons and some surfaces like the bottom of the front armrest have wear typical of this generation of VW/Audi but still function correctly. A common fix is to utilize switches from the 2009+ A3. Car will come with a hardwired Escort Redline radar detector, but can be removed before sale if unwanted. Front and rear sunroof shade clips are broken like every other OpenSky A3 but the tint is 100% on both panels.
Drivetrain:
Meticulously maintained ahead of schedule with all service records on hand. Always used synthetic lubricants, particularly Motul products. Only engine mods are an APR 91oct tune (very conservative), a replacement coolant pipe made out of stainless steel instead of plastic, the HPA "hockey puck" subframe mount, and a Setrab oil cooler professionally installed with AN lines and fittings at APR's world HQ in Alabama. These VR6's tend to run hot so this was more of a protection mod for the engine, never had any issues, but be aware oil capacity is slightly more than stock and cooler should really be drained in addition to oil pan. Runs beautifully, even serviced items like the fuel filter that Audi claims is a lifetime part (it's not). This is a timing chain motor and the last time I checked VCDS/VAGCOM showed no stretch in the chain, if it hasn't happened by now it honestly should not at all. Accessory belts may need to replaced soonish, and one of the auxillary fans has a bearing that is getting noisy but it has been operating fine for a long time. A/C blows ice cold and the notorious compressor was replaced with the final revision part that does not have issues. Transmission has been regularly serviced and shifts beautifully. Diffs work properly and have been serviced as well. The exhaust needs to be scrapped as the flange to one manifold sheared off at a weld, the downpipe is frankly just bad, and the Neuspeed catback has a broken baffle. There are a couple of V-bands that should make this easier and they can probably be salvaged. Driver's side CV boot is split. Battery is an AGM (Deka if I recall?) installed 10-19.
Fluids are in great shape and are no coolant, oil, ATF, or diff leaks, and I have NOT meticulously cleaned the engine bay so that you can confirm this yourself if you'd like. No ECU or TCU issues. Prior to the flange breaking this car passed DEQ without issue.
Suspension:
KW V2 Coilovers, H&R front and rear sway bars, and PowerFlex poly bushings throughout. Integrated Engineering front camber plates locked at -2.5deg, and the strut towers were not cut. Car was professionally aligned at A&R Auto Service in Lake Oswego. Handling is virtually neutral with a slight tendency to understeer but vastly better than stock. Ride is firm but high-quality and the car is lower but not overly low, only have to be careful with steep driveways and entrances and take them at a slight angle to avoid front bumper scrape.
Brakes:
OEM Textar pads, with Textar vented rotors in the front. Plenty of meat left on pads, no weird or loud sounds, extremely low dust, and no corrosion or issues with calipers. Lines replaced with Stainless Steel Goodridge lines, and the calipers have the Tyrolsport Brake Stiffening kit. Master cylinder has a Tyrolsport brace as well to prevent firewall flex. Pedal feels amazing. Fluid did just hit 3% water content, so I'd recommend flushing.
Included in sale are multiple spare keys including valet key, winter tires, original window sticker, Escort Redline radar detector, original owner's manual, OEM sunshade, KW Coilover tool and really anything else that I have for it.
