Before Audi officially became the admirable car company we know today, it started as a merger between several major German automobile companies -- DKW, Audi, Horch, and Wanderer. These companies formed Auto Union and made the reputable logo of Audi's 4 rings known today. The DKW Grosse 3=6 is their major legacy. Most of the production was done in Zwickau, pre-World War II.
