Hello Ebayers! You are bidding on a 1950 Austin A40 Devon 4door that I found in Saskatchewan, and brought to Ontario with the intent to resto-mod it.
Because of the rust free body,and the scarcity of this car, I have decided to give someone who would like to preserve it the opportunity to buy it. Cosmetically, it is seviceable and can be driven as it is, but should be restored and enjoyed by a person who appreciates the nostalgia of British cars.
The Austin starts willingly, motor runs smoothly, no smoke evident,has good oil pressue, electrics work, good clutch, transmission is smooth shifting. Interior is worn, but serviceable.
I havn't had time to get it sorted, but the spare tire cover, jack and spare tire are missing, and there are no hubcaps.The paint is an old repaint, and probably has been repainted more than once.
The doors, hood and trunk are rustfree, the windows work, but need to be lubed, as they are quite stiff to operate. For a 65 year old English car, it is amazing, but is sold "as is". I recommend having a look before bidding, if you are not familiar with old cars. Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding!
