Description
I am reluctantly offering for auction my 1938 Austin which is 95% restored. Very little is required to complete this restoration.
All the hard work has been done to this car, which is completely rust free having spent most of its' life in western Victoria.
To date I have overhauled the engine installing 6 new pistons, new rings, new bearings throughout, new radiator in the original style, new brake pads to complement the mechanical braking system, new upholstery and head lining, new hubcaps. Bumper bars have been re-chromed, the headlights have also been re-chromed.
The motor is running quite nicely, however with all cars of this vintage it needs to be "run in" and this can be achieved by simply driving the car for about 20k's to bed in the rings.
The electrical system has been overhauled with all new wiring and all instruments and lights are in working order.
The car is being sold purely because I have run out of room and with too many other projects on the go.
To complete the car, shock absorbers need to be installed. I have 3 of the originals however it was always my intention to use modern shocks to give a better ride. The exhaust system could also be updated, although I am sure the existing system will suffice.
For further information please send an e-mail and I will reply with my phone number should you wish to discuss.
