For sale is a 1989 Austin Mini Racing Flame limited edition (1,000 made, less than 200 left) offered by JS Imports and Classics with a clean record and paperwork tracking mileage back through the 2000’s. A good condition rare version of a collectible car. It is a right-hand-drive example that was imported to the US from the UK in 2021.
It is finished in the classic Mini red with a black roof over black and red upholstery and is powered by a fuel-injected 998cc inline-four SOHC engine paired with a four-speed manual trans-axle.
Equipment includes -

- An updated dashboard,
- Sport stripes on the hood
- Crank windows.
- Wheels slightly spaced out, adds to the wider look.
The car, to our best assessment was refinished under prior ownership in the last 5 years. Exterior details include the flared wheel arches, black bumpers, a black grille with updated badges, as well as updated highly desirable front xenon circle surround headlights. 4 good Yokohoma tires on the car at 175/50R13, and we have all of our imported cars put through a fresh MOT (US equivalent of an inspection) prior to import.
The interior is trimmed in black and red seats with matching door panels and black carpeting. The door panels were updated to include new lock surrounds. There are also several other upgrades including new wheel and gear knob, and the car also has a recently new (last 3-5 years) headliner installed. There is currently no stereo in the car, but there is the space to place one if required. All lights, fans and levers tested and seen to be working well. The revometer is becoming erratic and will fail to register rev count at times. Trunk space is relatively clean, battery compartment also clean.
There are no signs of any damage, and the UK paperwork all ties into the age and mileage for this car. A very solid, all round clean example of a classic British made and owned 80’s mini; Your own slice of history. The five-digit odometer shows 30,200 miles, 100 of which were added by us. Whilst we cannot guarantee this is the true mileage, its evident from our review and the paperwork that we believe it to be true. There is little to no rust evident on the car, the undercarriage is clean and has been treated with a black coat in the last year. There is some slight corrosion appearing on the side under panels but this is not significant (can be seen in photos).
The 998cc inline-four SOHC is fitted with an aftermarket exhaust that sounds great, and has undergone further work to replace the air filter, the valve cover, ignition coil, the plugs and some hoses as well as adjustment to the clutch master slave cylinder and a general tune up.
When we import cars, we put them all through a 100-mile, 10 section test that does over 50 checks on key areas before well sell them. We’re two English owners with 30+ years of experience owning these types of cars and we import a range of British and European cars, and these Mini’s are great fun to own.
This is an import car and the original VIN is SAXXL2S1020412555. This is yet to be titled, but we can assist with this if required.
